The Fred Show. The horror

I no longer fear hell for I have seen The Fred Show. I do, however, fear for the future.

This show was beyond horrible. I told my daughter, and I quote “this show sucks” Her response? “I know” :smack:
Yet, she kept watching it. And watched it when it came on again. Right then I considered stabbing her and going and getting a vasectomy.

The people who okayed this show should all be beaten sacks of doorknobs. Then have sand rubbed in thier eyes.

Coarse sand.

I saw him do a crossover on iCarly once and was scarred for life.

“Have you tried simply turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids, and beating them?”

Do Fred and all of his friends talk in a high pitch?

I was in a small town bar/grill at lunchtime on a Saturday recently and think this was paying on the TV over the bar (WTF). Everyone was talking in an insanely high pitch and it was like nails on a chalkboard. I was gobsmacked that people actually tuned in to something like that. However I just watched Fred Goes to the Dentist on YouTube and when he screamed and cried like a baby it made me laugh. I’m in a slap-happy mood right now though. I’m sure at any other point I’d want to stab my eyes and ears out.

I have now. I only watched because she’s been home sick and wanted me watch tv with her. This may be her first signs of sadism.

That’s the show. I didn’t see any humor at all. I still want to rupture my eardrums.

I try not to judge others tastes but I can not imagine anyone enjoying this show. I just can’t.

How old are you? If you’re older than 10 then I don’t really think you’re the target demographic for this show and I’m not surprised you didn’t find any humor in it.

I’m north of 40. I know the show’s not aimed at me.

It’s still not funny and I find quite a bit of childish humor funny. Sometimes.

Though, admittedly, not stuff I consider stupid.

Tried and failed to find The Fred Show on IMDb. Do you mean “Fred: The Show”?

If so, well, I still never heard of it, but it looks like yet another of those ubiquitous low-budget kid-coms which are all terrible when viewed through adult eyes. If this one is significantly worse than, say, Wizards of Waverly Place, then you have my sincere sympathies.

I’m in my mid 40’s and I maintain we were never that dumb.
Scooby Doo still holds up to this day and Tom & Jerry is STILL some funny stuff.

I accept your sympathies. Wizards is nearly high art compared to what I saw. You must be correct with it being Fred: The Show.

I agree wholeheartedly.

My kids know that one of my least favorite shows is “The Suite Life on Deck,” (the sequel series to “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody.”) My daughter, knowing my hatred of all things Fred asked me “Would you rather watch ‘The Suite Life on Deck’ or Fred?” My reply was “I would watch a daylong marathon of Suite Life on Deck before I watched 5 seconds of Fred. In fact, I would shoot our brand new 55-inch HD TV if I had to watch 5 minutes of Fred.”

My 10yo daughter loves the Fred shows and made us watch Fred 2, some halloween themed movie. Tragically for the youth of America, Sophia’s goal in life is to be the class clown, so God help us all: The humor of the future will be dismal. :frowning:

It’s about eleventy zillion times worse than the Wizards of Waverly Place. I agree that that show and all the other Zac and Miley and Carly shows are terrible, but this is in a different league. This is teen TV as commissioned by Satan.

When I saw it on iCarly - I, too, have a young daughter - I actually thought they’d made Fred up as a parody of teen web shows; I’m not sure if there are any actual teen web shows to parody, but it didn’t seem real.

iCarly is actually watchable. Jerry Trainor and Jeanette McCurdy probably have strong careers ahead of them.

Fred, I think, is an experiment to see how deliberately horrible a show can be and still find success.

I thought was the Tom Green Show.

You guys are such pills. I love that show!

The future, god help us all, IS NOW

Was flipping through channels and saw the guy from YouTube (where I’d seen one of his videos before) and then immediately realized what this thread had been talking about.

For experiment’s sake I watched 10 minutes. Ignoring the voice it seemed pretty standard kid fair on Disney Family or Nickelodeon or whatever channel it was on. Add the voice thing and I’d probably have to shoot my theoretical children if they insisted on watching it regularly while I was in the house.

My older teen daughter’s comment on Fred was yes, he is horrifying and the show is horrible, but hey: he’s cute. So she’ll watch. It really is unbelievable to me that this show is actually on television. I thought it was made up for iCarly too.

You have to look past the voice to what he is saying. It’s FUNNY!

Gonna guess the weaker of you cannot stomach Annoying Orange vs. Fred?
