The freshness of frozen cooked chicken

I’ve been seeing a lot of frozen cooked chicken lately. Grilled, fried, and sauteed. I’m tempted to try some, but I don’t understand how COOKED chicken can stay fresh so long, even if frozen.

Do they add some kind of special preservative?
Do you eat frozen cooked chicken?
How wide is the freshness gap between first time cooked chicken and frozen cooked chicken?

It’s no different than anything else. Freezing does change some qualities, but I doubt it’s any different than frozen raw chicken. Most TV dinners are already cooked and merely require heating. Heck, most of the food you eat out at cheaper places (fast food, Denny’s, etc.) started out frozen.
