The Fuzz BOLO Fuzzy-Wuzzy

A bear knocked a cyclist off his mountain bike and killed him in a rare encounter Wednesday afternoon near the Glacier National Park.

“We are attempting to capture and/or confirm the identity of the offending bear,”

Mebbe the sidewalk isn’t such a bad to ride after all.

Offending” bear? :dubious:

Mountain biking in grizzly territory seems kinda scary to me, but I’m sure people do it all the time. I wonder if they have warning notices posted like they have for mountain lions at trail heads in California.

Just got off my bike where I was dodging cars on a narrow yet busy street, feeling lucky to get home alive.

But now that I read this, what do I have to complain about?
(Did I get mauled? Eaten? Do I have any claw marks? Nope, must’ve been a good ride)

You ever meet a bear who used deodorant?

A friend was chased by a mountain lion while riding his bike on a trail in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The cats see a fast moving object and a vaguely prey shaped object and can be triggered to launch. He ended up off his bike, holding it up between himself and the mountain lion, yelling at the top of his lungs. They eventually parted ways. Last I heard, he didn’t ride those trails alone anymore.

I thought it meant “Bears Only Live Once”.

A username like THAT, and you don’t know?

Didja notice that comment was from** blondebear**?

There you go, perpetuating ursine stereotypes

Perhaps they should look here, Bear Grass, NC

Huh, North Carolina you say? I thought Bear Grass was in Colorado…

Yeah, wanted posters should go up all over the region. You can’t mess with former employees of the U.S. Forest Service.

Hopefully once this offending bear is eliminated, everyone can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the remaining bears are kind, friendly and treasure mountain bikers.

Maybe if we weren’t so deaf to ursine language this would be less of a problem.

Bear grass is in that bottle in the spice rack labeled:OREGANO. Sssshhhhh…
