The Gift of Life in the MMP

Good morning. Mrs Magill was still tired when the walking alarm went off. Well, it was really a combination walking/bladder alarm. Chloé and I put in our 3.5 miles. It was mostly clear, sow while it was mostly cool, the sunrise was rather meh…

Spike picked up Mrs. Magill and Fang from the airport last night. It’s good to see Fang. It’s also funny how quickly the brothers will fall into the same old roles again. Fang was chasing Squeaky around upstairs like when they were all 8, 4, and 2. Now they’re (almost) 23, 19, and 17 and weigh a hundred pound more than they once did, it’s not as endearing. I have a full house again, and it is loud. I kinda liked quiet.

Thank you, everyone for the safe travel wishes for Mrs Magill and Squeaky

My sister will be here on Friday. I’ve asked her to go to the wig shop with me on Saturday, if I can get an appointment. I need hair that wasn’t bought for a Halloween costume thirty years ago.

Mrs Magill and I talked a little this morning. I’ve said it before: she is a planner, and I wish I could give her a timeline. The only thing we’ve set in stone is that I will not socially transition until Squeaky graduates, and if I get my WPATH letter, I’ll start low dose hormones in the fall. In the meantime, Fang should be packing up his closet (which he should have done last fall, when the Army was paying for his movers), and I’ll be commandeering it for my transitory wardrobe.

It’s happening.

Hippie - Yikes!

I will not show this to Fang, who used to volunteer as Little Kid Wrangler every summer.

Mrs Magill had to have two transfusions while she was fighting her leukemia. I started donating regularly then. I stopped while I was being tested for lupus, but since that was a false alarm, I need to get back in the habit.

taters - You and I have similar spousal dynamics, only reversed. I have learned to trust the planner and to follow her checklists. If we have a project, she will make a checklist, and I will grumble. At the end, once all the little boxes are checked, and everything that needed to be done will be done, I will appreciate the checklist. I will never give her the satisfaction of saying that I appreciate the checklist, and I’ve told her so… which kinda defeated the purpose of the first part of this sentence.
