"The Golden Path" by Chemical Bro...does it sound like Cake or U2 to you?

Someone started a thread, that for the life of me I can’t find, asking about a new U2 single, which no one knew about. I wonder if this is the song they thought was by U2; unfortunately I didn’t hear it until today, so I didn’t suggest it in that thread before it was lost to the void. It sounds like a cross of U2 and Cake to me, personally. It’s by the Chemical Brothers and the Flaming Lips, but doesn’t sound like either, go figure.

Has anyone else heard “The Golden Path” yet? I’m curious if other people think it sounds nothing like what you’d expect from either group.

No, it has to do with death, oddly enough.

It doesn’t sound anything like U2 to me. The tempo is too fast; the vocals are dissimilar; and the lyrics aren’t sufficiently hackneyed. :wink:

Personally, I think it’s a great single. The first few times I heard it on the radio, I had no idea it was the Chemical Brothers.

Death, eh? I’ll have to check it out then. I hope it doesn’t sound too much like U2. I’m not a big fan of that band.
