The stack of file folders he was holding seemed to imply a lot of problems for Michael. On the other hand, there didn’t seem to be 800 (plus) file folders, so maybe the problems are something other than ‘too many reboots.’
Anyway: yes, it won’t be fun to wait ten weeks (or thereabouts) for the next new episode. But that’s the price we pay for good writing, I guess.
Well it sure sucks that we have to wait until forking January for the next episode.
What if the actual Good Place finally realized Michael stole on of their Janets, and it turns out that’s a bigger deal than he or Shawn thought it’d be?
I’m hoping we find out a lot more about the Good Place, but I figure it would be hard to reveal that much without ruining a lot of the mystique. But I’ve been consistently unable to make good predictions about this show.
The writers have got to be perpetually teetering on the edge of a shark-jump when it comes to reveals. At what point will the audience know too much? At what point do they widen the scope so broadly that it becomes difficult to make us care about individual characters? How far ahead have they even written? I could see them doing a thing where every season has a completely different focus and maybe even slides into a different set of genre expectations. Season 1 was a kind of mystery. Season 2 is more farcical. And so on.
I was flabbergasted that they were able to keep the show good (damn good) after the big Season 1 reveal. Here’s hoping they keep it up.
I just loved how they confounded our expectations from the very first scene.
Not a great episode, though, but the plotting was brilliant, if a bit far-fetched. Still, they used the elements they had set up over the past few episodes to make it all fit together.
Arrg, missed it and I even looked at the TV schedule (I wasn’t going to be home and looked to see if I should record anything)
Looks like I can watch online (some networks you have to wait a week)
I am continually amazed at how this show disguises where it’s going. Great writing.
And once again, (drunk) Janet steals the show. (Can I braid your hair?)
Well Sean did swear everyone to secrecy and order Michael to erase evidence of it. On the other hand Sean will probably be expecting Michael to come back to the “office” and eventually there going to realize the gang isn’t in the Medium Place. Granted it could take centuries for the extradition paperwork to work it’s way through the celestial bureaucracy. In the meantime it’ll be fun watching them all trying to turn the neighborhood into their own version of the Good Place. BTW didn’t Sean emerge from a pod exactly like the one he sealed Vicki in? What’s up with that.
