The Good Place [edited title]

It was bugging me that I couldn’t recognize the actor playing Eleanor’s stepfather until I realized he was every SCTV cast member crushed into one body.

Andy Daly.

He’s been in the latest CarMax commercials.

I wonder how much longer the writers are going to keep up this “gang does good on Earth” plotline?

Well, Eleanor, Tahani, and Jason have all done their big bits over the past couple of episodes. Other than breaking things off with Simone, I’m not sure that we’ve seen Chidi trying to “save” someone from his past; my guess would be that, once that story gets told (probably next week), the next curveball in the plot will come along.

In Chidi’s case normally I would expect more closure with his one friend that caught the brunt of his indecisiveness in the original timeline, but just being with Simone seems to have really mellowed him out. But I agree, most of the new status quos have not lasted long, and I don’t expect this one to either. I’m still amazed at how many times they’ve managed to change the premise without milking it for at least half a season.

Episode: The Worst Possible Use of Free Will

This is more like it. This was funny, moving and moved the story. This is by far the best season 3 episode, and welcome back Vicky

Yes. Bringing Sean and Vicky back gives some conflict and more room for humor.

Here is the screen full of information about Eleanor’s life.

Lots of fun stuff this episode, particularly Tahani’s and Jason’s pets (although how did a pet penguin end up torturing Jason?).

For some reason I was expecting the last guy to explode while coming through the portal.

Ted Danson was awesome in this episode.

Play football like Blake Bortles.

I kinda want a pet minotaur that judges me now.

Not a mirror centaur, like the one Tahani had last night?

Also they have no powers and Michael and/or Janet can easily identify & out them to the gang.

Do we know they have no powers? Maybe their illegal portal works differently from the official door.

They won’t. If they did, the show couldn’t go on for more than an episode. Sean would just wave a hand to get what he wants.

Though I bet he thinks he has his powers right now.

Apparently they do. Of course the really interesting bit about that reveal is about the side effects to recalling afterlife memories on Earth; not that fact that their are side effects, that fact that Michael knows that there are side effects. That would imply this isn’t the first time someone was sent back to Earth for a second chance.

That doesn’t necessarily follow. Since Janet is still omniscient, and Michael still remembers all the “architect” knowledge he had before coming to Earth, they both could know the effects of mortals revisiting their afterlife memories in a purely theoretical sense.

Well Trevor seemed like he was prepared for not having any powers while on Earth
so it would be odd if Sean & co weren’t. That being said they might have a much harder time adapting than Trevor, Michael, or Janet did.

Good point, but I still think this might not be the first time anyone’s been sent back to Earth at least once before. Jen’s reaction last season when Michael suggested this makes me think they did it at least once before (& it may have gone very badly).

I always liked Vicky. Sure, she jerked Michael around, but she’s not like the others- she just wants to perform. I hope than now that she’s on Earth, she gets to go to Hollywood, or at least be on a reality show.
