I don’t whine. I bitch and moan.
I had to pop home at lunchtime for a delivery, and I checked my post box too while I was there. I discovered that my first postcard had arrived. Hooray! It’s from **Elendil’s Heir **and shows a view of the Cleveland skyline.
Hi all! I was away in Ireland for some time, and when I came back, I found a postcard from our lovely Anaamika. Thanks a lot! It is very nice; a very cute friendship card.
I am waiting for the other two with baited breath!!
Oh, and Anaamika – Indeed, where I live was planned
It is a very “new” area of The Hague, recently developed (around 2005).
Came home from work today and there was a lovely postcard from IvoryTowerDenizen. Very nice pictures of a lighthouse and the waterfront. Looks like a wonderful place. Thank you.
I love your username too. To answer your question, yes, many trips to Stratford were made. Basically every year in high school as a part of the English curriculum. It is only about a 90 minute drive from where I grew up. I have tickets to see Christopher Plummer in A Word or Two next month. I can’t wait.
That’s great! We went every year in HS too, but it was optional. Saw many wonderful shows.
ScareyFaerie, so do you post at the Giraffe Boards?
Thanks! Who knew my first card would come all the way from the UK?
Weird that only 2 of the cards I sent have arrived. I’m getting impatient at both the USPS and Canada Post. ::taps foot::
I thought the same thing!
gt - none of mine seem to have landed yet either. I’m sort of glad someone else is in my (kinda) boat!
I used to, a long time ago, but not any more because I just can’t keep up with it all! I don’t have much time to spend on boards so unfortunately something had to go. I also felt a lot of the time that there were so many cliques and in-jokes on the Giraffe boards, I couldn’t follow much of it. That also comes down to other people posting far more often than I had time for.
Maybe I’ll go back when I have time on my hands. Next week then, when I’m unemployed!
Thanks - it was very cute! A paen to giraffes!
I got home tonight to find my final card in the mail. It’s from minionkat and it’s a fantastic picture of a skull from the Stones 'n Bones Museum in Ontario. I’ve never been to Canada before, now I have a reason to go, thanks!
Hey, I just got my third postcard from ShelliBean. Way to go!
She matched what she sent to my Doper moniker and sent me a “Space and Rocket Center” card from Huntsville, Alabam, and even drew a nuclear cloud in the address panel !
ShelliBean, I spent lots of time in Mobile, AL in the early 1970’s when I was married to an ex-local from that city. (We would visit his family there.) I remember going on the divine Azalea Trail, and we ate at the original Wintzell’s Oyster House, & ate West Indies Salad A LOT. Nice memories!
Thank you!
Ooooh, ScaryFaerie, you must come to Canada. We have much to offer.
I am kind of impressed that the card that travelled farthest arrived first.
That museum is just wonderful. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
And this thread should be revived for 2013 … I suggest sending FIVE cards … it’s affordable and just lots 'o fun …
This is just Round One. It looks like we have a pretty good follow-through rate, so Round Two can kick off in August.
For that matter, 5 cards might not be a bad idea for Round Two.
I got home after another 3-day trip last night and checked the mail.
Nothing.
After slumping my way through the day, the postman came again (didn’t ring, just drove up the box in a modern style).
A new card from Labtrash arrived in the mail today!
Now I have now received from Cunctator and Labtrash! Only one more to go (and two of mine have made it out as well).
I just got one! From the fine state of Virginia, from raventhief!
I really sent mine out. Must be on the slow boat.
Likewise none a have arrived yet.
Ev’ry ting on island time, mon.
I meant to post to say that i have gotten 2…the second from JoseB. I love the happy postcard happiness that arrives
And i’m thrilled that at least one of mine has arrived at its destination (sorry about the terrible handwriting)
I got a bonus postcard from Labtrash this morning - great picture of the park and a very interesting building.
