And the geography lesson continues at the misshouse.
We got post cards from LVgeogeek, Elenia25,Ashkicker and Ms. Robyn.
WOOO HOOO!
misstee, could I have another list please?
I got my first one yesterday, from dbygawdcapn. Thanks, Cap’n!
And mine got sent out Thursday.
Fun fun fun
I got my first postcard yesterday from Ashkicker – very pretty – and one today from dbygawdcapn, which I thought was a bit funny. Mine must have been towards the top.
I got mine bought and all filled out today but got to the post office too late. So Monday they go!
I got one from Fishcheers15 yesterday. Cool stamp by the way.
and one from LVgeogeek this afternoon. (thanks)
I’m in list five, and I’d just like to mention that my PO Box is 442 not 44.
Thankyou!
Can’t believe how hard it was to find post cards in our little town! Mission has been accomplished though. Not really indicative of our area but nice just the same…
Had the wife write em 'cause some people might want to read them!! I have ATROCIOUS handwriting!
In the mail Monday.
Misstee , could you please resend the list of 5 names. I didn’t get it. Thanks.
I do not know why some emails do not go through from my main email. I resent to you Ashkicker via my yahoo email account.
Also, there is another list on its way for Cowgirl Jules. I never would have figured out who you were had you not had a sig.
Got three today! My apologies on the lateness of getting mine out. Who new it would be so hard to find postcards in friggin’ Nashville??? I’m actually still 2 shy but I’ll be mailing out the bulk of them Monday.
IIRC that’s Marie Juchacz, one of the leaders of Germany’s women’s suffrage movement. The only €1 stamp they had.
Now that I actually have a day off (who’da thunk the theme parks would be busy at Easter?!), I will be spending tomorrow (Easter / day off / woohoo, a break from work!!!) writing cards. They will be headed out on Monday
And yeah, I have the boring Georgehead stamps, too.
Got my first one today, from dbygawdcapn. It has a picture of a jackalope on it! Awesome!
After receiving cards from dbygawdcapn and libwen earlier this week, I sent fifteen today and requested a second list of names from misstee. Since I have plenty of duplicates from all over the world in my collection, nobody will be receiving a Lafayette view from me. I’m trying to match cards to individual Dopers’ interests, but since I “know” some of you better than I do others, I’m sure I won’t hit the bull’s-eye with each selection. Also, I individualized the messages, as you’ll soon see…
I got two cards today – MsRobyn and dbygawdcapn. Thanks!
Mine went out Friday (except for the late adds), so expect them soon. I love your handwriting, Robin.
It’s been a crazy bit of time here, and I have an exam this coming Thursday, but I will be gettng my 61 cards out the door in dribs and drabs.
To all non-Canadian postcard writers: I apologise. I know what country I live in, I guess it would be self-evident to you, too, right?
Bad Sinshine
I have a couple of 20-something girls living upstairs who think this idea is too cool. I have been asked to stick my postcards up in the common foyer for them to enjoy vicariously.
This is fun!!
I am writing them as we speak/read (in between SDMB pages).
I will be leaving my house tomorrow to buy postcards and stamps!
So they will get out in the mail by the end of the week.
Also, I hit the mother load when opening my mail box today.
I got cards from fishcheer15,Bambi Hassenpfeffer, Chicago Faucet, Lok, Hugh Jass, lainaf, Casey1505, Cowgirl Jules and the cutest card from nocturnal_tick.
The kids are looking at them now. Trying to find all the places on a ( US ) map. We will have to find a world atlas later to find you non-USA dopers.
Plus, I got another postcard from a friend today. It seems she is throwing a 40th birthday party for her husband.
And I got my phone bill - It was only $30.00, which was awesome.
Got cards today from Chicago Faucet, Cowgirl Jules, Lok, Archergal, Hugh Jass, and Ravenous Lady. BTW, Lady, I can’t remember which card I sent you, because I had about 10 different kinds. But, one of the the kinds I had is the manatee one I got from you, so here’s hoping I didn’t send you one of those. I still haven’t managed to get out the last five stragglers on the short list, but I’ll probably do that tomorrow.
Not really an animation fan, Lok. Is it the name?
Hugh, spring time in Florida isn’t as pretty. It rains a lot, and then it gets really hot. Of course, it’s only for a couple of months until summer starts; then it rains more and gets hotter.
A Chicago Faucet in Pennsylvania. Interesting.
I’ve driven past Stone Mountain many times, Archergal, but have never stopped. Maybe I should have – it looks pretty.
My cards go in the mail on my way to work tomorrow morning! I have got four cards so far, but will hold off posting about them until they stop coming in.
I got two today: Hugh Jass and Torie. Thank you.
Jeez, now I just feel like an ass. I didn’t write any messages on any of mine. But I feel that I made it up with a stunning photograph of the Great City of Pittsburgh.
I am actually going to reserve wall space to tack these postcards on to.
