Come one, come all! Bring all ye tattoos, piercings, and various neat body art.
(Ok, I just like seeing tattoos and I am bored…is that so wrong? Didn’t think so.)
I have two tattoos. One on my left, inner ankle: my most recent tattoo I got that one a few weeks ago- still healing up a bit.
This is my other (first) tattoo. It is on my outer, right ankle. I had the color redone a few weeks ago, so it too is still healing up. My beautiful butterfly
kittenlm and her sister have matching claddaugh/shamrock tats they designed. Came out much better than mine…
Might I just hijack for a moment here? It took six minutes for me to read the OP, grab my camera, take about a dozen pics (had to get the angle correct), find the best one, load it to my site and make this post. Six minutes from request to finished product. Man, I love modern technology.
I keep pics of my tats on Photobucket for just such occasions as these.
Here’s my first tat…I was 19, and I woke up one day, found cash in my wallet, and decided to get some ink. Heh. I still like it, except for the placement, it’s on my inner right forearm. Top to bottom, the symbols mean protection, magic, and the moon.
Here’s the second one, got it in Montreal, but it needs touching up. The dude that did it acted like he’d never seen a boobie before. It’s a triskele. Look it up.
And the third and most recent, my favorite. I got a phoenix when I rose from the proverbial ashes of one of my lives.
This is the only picture I have where you can see one of my tatoo’s It is two feathers with some beads at the top. Not a close enough pic but its all I got. I have another on my right shoulder of a baby lion cub but I don’t have any pics of that.
Time Like Tears Love your story about your first. Mine was for a stupid reason, but I don’t regret it. Oh hell, here’s the story: my boyfriend and I were fighting and I was really pissed. The Aerosmith song “Cryin” came on and I was like, “Ha! I’m going to do something self destructive like she did in the video!” First I was going to get a piercing, but I didn’t want any facial scars and anything else would hurt. I decided to get a tattoo.
Did you intentionally get yours blue? Or has the black just faded over time?
AsecretK Cute tattoo, but cuter puppy!!! Yes, that’s a puppy. I have a 200lb great dane, he’s still my baby.
Next one, which has a VERY long explanation. Anyway, I’m gonna get tribal stuff added on the sides. And it’s a litle stretched because I was leaning forward: Snakes on my back
It’s actually a rather vivid green. I mixed the color myself at the studio, because I didn’t like the standard green for whatever reason. Too yellowy, I think, and they had a dark one, but it was quite near black. I took the blackish green and added blue and white and mixed it all up with a toothpick.
It’s another reason why I feel silly 5 years later about the placement. Not only is it in a very conspicuous spot, it’s very bright. I am constantly asked if it’s real, almost as often as I am asked if the symbols mean anything. Because, yeah, I would have something permanently emblazoned onto my skin for no good reason. It was spur of the moment, but not completely un thought out.
Ah! My butterfly didn’t heal right so the color was off, I had it redone a while ago and now it looks ok. My flower/arabic tattoo has REALLY bright color. People keep asking if I drew it on… yes, I’m in 8th grade, I draw on myself with markers. I totally understand what you mean about the placement. Although my tattoos are totally random (didn’t think them through), I got them in an easy enough place to hide.
I have nerve damage from a c-spine injury, so i can pound on my left hand with a hammer and it doesnt bother me much…but it didn’t hurt, more of an annoyance as it took about 2 hours to do, and mrAru was getting bored, and I was hungry=)
I would say the most painful it got was a little bit of a burning feeling on a couple of lines, the central dark smeary bit is actually covering some old scars with graphite embedded in them, and so that area got worked over fairly completely. A friend of mine says that if you pop 800 mg ibuprofin 45 minutes before going in for a tattoo, you barely feel anything. DOnt know how true this is. The ahrdest part for me was sleeping because I sort of sleep with my wrists and hands curled in and sort of on them, and with gooy bandage on one wrist it wasnt comfortable that night.
the black kitty is dead now, died several months ago, I should probably update the page, but it is a nice picture of him. The white one is an absolute attention slut, she wants everybody to play with her all the time. She is very good at ‘helping’ me read books or newspapers=)
When I got my first tattoo, it didn’t really hurt. I compared it to a cat scratch…a long, 40 minute cat scratch. Hurt like a bitch to get it redone, still just stinging and burning, though.
I was sick when I got my last tattoo- bad cold, super sore throat. I took 2 extra strength Tylonal beforehand (1000 mg). That would explain why I couldn’t even feel the needle!
:smack:
I’ll take a pic of mine (finally) when I get home. I have a self-designed one on my inner left ankle. If I ever get the money and the right design, I’m getting a gargoyle based on this one from D&D on my back between my shoulderblades.
I need to get pics of Ardred’s too. He’s got three: a dragon on his shoulder similar in style to the phoenix posted above, Timmain and Winnowill on his left shoulderblade and Two-Edge (from Elfquest, both) on his right. Two-edge isn’t done, but it still looks amazing.
We got our tattoos done here. Lance was the artist, unfortunately he doesn’t have any pictures up.
