Heh. Reminds me of the aft secondary hull of the (fugly IMHO) USS Enterprise of the movie reboots: QMx Unveils 2009 Star Trek Movie Enterprise Replica – Yours For $5k – TrekMovie.com

I thought this might be the right place for this trivia question.

I have travelled on three Boeing vehicles whose name did not end with ‘7’. What were they?

Dash-80, 720, Stearman?

720 is correct. A 720B in 1972; probably the earliest airplane flight I remember taking.

Would love to fly in a Stearman if I ever get the chance.

Led Zeppelin used a 720 for touring.

Hmm. Military? if so, that opens up a heap of aircraft made by companies acquired by Boeing such as the F-15 and F/A-18.

It’s not a company acquired by Boeing in the intervening years. The ones I’m thinking of were Boeing-made at the time of their production.

747SP? Or does that still count as a 747?
P.S. I have had a flight in a Boeing-built Stearman. Pretty fun, that.

Should we care that you said Boeing “vehicles” and not aircraft?

No. I’ve never even seen one of those.

Maybe.

Boeing 234 ?

B-24/25/29? KC135? Guessing not a 314 clipper.

Brian

Nope.

I’ll post the answer sometime tomorrow if no one gets it.

I had no idea Boeing was involved in either vehicle. Very cool that you road in them and new the history.

I did. I just didn’t think of them. I had a model of this Boeing when I was a kid:
