2

The Fugitive vs. Citizen Kane was harder than expected. The Princess Bride vs. Office Space was just unfair…

3

Well, at least one Kubrick film is going to make it into the next round…

4

For me the tough one was Stand By Me vs The Seven Samurai.

5

I couldn’t vote in matches 1, 3, 5, 9, 13, 20, 21, 22, 29, and 30 — each pair was too close to call.

I’m surprised that Jaws is losing to Fellowship of the Ring, and 2001 is losing to Blazing Saddles.

6

The Bourne Identity vs The Naked Gun is the only one that left me with the feeling of 2 mediocre films battling it out. Every other match has at least 1 stonker.

7

Based on the list of movies left I will be picking Naked Gun every time I can, unless it’s against Airplane!. Speaking of which, I was planning on watching Naked Gun again today.

8

Polls will be closing in one hour or so, unless there are objections.

9

This one was interesting. We had our first tie between One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Shining both with 22 votes. Cuckoo’s Nest prevails in the point differential tie-breaker with a cumulative margin of 63 points across all rounds versus The Shining’s 23.

Here are the final rankings of the 32 films eliminated in Round 5:

33 The Fellowship of the Ring

@What_Exit for posterity’s sake, would you kindly rename the title to Round of 64? This was posted before I realized my error.

12

Done.

Cheers mate.
