The Great SDMB Winter 2015 Postcard Exchange!

My cards are going out tomorrow! I am feeling downright “human” – whatever that may be.

Look out, world

Wow, the postal machines did a good job of beating that up - I might start using an envelope for these things.

I just posted the postcards - expect them in a week or so as they’re from the UK.

Two cards from Lsura in the mail yesterday. An awesome one of a donut assault, plus an earworm card from New York’s Penn Station:

Thanks, but remember Rule 5.

I used an envelope for my postcard to the UK since it turned out to be the same price to send a letter as a postcard. Figured might as well protect it a little.

And today I received a third postcard from silenus, which I think was supposed to be the first, as it said “Greetings from sunny…”

I received a very cool B&W postcard of a city street scene in Oberlin, OH, from Elendil’s Heir. Wow, it took 8 days to get here!

Since my cards were oversize, they cost the same to send as a letter as well - so another point for just using an envelope.

Mine went out tonight!

Excellent. All cards should go out by Saturday.

Mine are sent as of an hour ago…

Sent early this afternoon. One goes to Germany; one goes to the Midwest; one goes to the West Coast! On they fly, via the USPS. Happy voyages to all

Mine all went out today.

Two here in 'Murica, & one off to the UK

Just got a card from Honey, showing beautiful Lake George, N.Y. in brilliant Adirondacks sunshine. Thanks!

I received a wonderful card today from Pai325 showing some of the pictures and artifacts in the Midway Village Museum from the All American Girls Professional Baseball League team the Rockford Peaches, featured in the film A League of Their Own, which has to be in my top 3 (maybe 2!) movies of all time! Awesome, and thank you!!!

Mine went out last night. The post office was closed, but they went out via the UPS store.

I also got three great cards yesterday. One was a beautiful picture of Seattle with the Space Needle and Mt. Rainier, and a smiley face from Helena330. The other two were from Fluffy Picklesniffer, both with original drawings, a choo choo train, and a jar of pickles for me. One card showed a train depot and the other a scene from the “Ice Age National Scenic Trail”. As a teenager (many years ago) I went whitewater canoeing on the Flambeau River, possibly close to where Fluffy lives.

I am a first time postcard exchanger. This is fun. Thanks to my correspondents and to Elendil’s Heir for organizing it.

My postcards went out today! Sorry for the delay (almost to the wire!), but they are going to their intended destinations

Hope they make it there soon!

I just found 2 postcards I bought on my last vacation, to use for the postcard exchange. I forgot all about them! When is the Spring postcard exchange?

And now I want to go on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, except it’s in Wisconsin and 1200 miles long!

(There’s the Alameda “Creek” Trail near me, but in this post-dystopian, waterless California, the “creek” is pretty lame.)

Re: the Alameda Creek trail–I don’t know about the trail itself, but the far end is right near Coyote Hills Regional Park, which is well worth a visit. (especially now when the hills are green and the wildflowers should be blooming)
