The Chinese call Clinton a “rabble rouser”:
'Bout time she had some good news. Commies suck.
“Commies suck”? Really? That’s your takeaway from this story?
Clinton has been talking up women’s rights in China for decades. You’re right that annoying the Chinese on this is probably a net positive for her but it has little to do with whatever’s left of their Communism.
Well, given the nature of China’s regime, focusing on women’s rights is kind of short sighted if that’s what she’s doing. But it’s still cool that they called her a “rabble rouser”. Rabble should be roused. It’s not like China isn’t rousing their rabble at every opportunity.
How so? Are you saying that international women’s rights aren’t important, or are you under the impression that women’s rights is the only issue on Clinton’s agenda? It is certainly an important issue for her personally and one where she can rile the Chinese openly without significant negative consequence to the US, unlike defense or trade where much more careful diplomacy is required. Don’t read that to mean she’s not paying attention to those issues as well, though.
True, China needs to be snubbed every so often for their own good. As do most countries.
I meant that human rights in China are so atrocious in general that focusing on half the population makes little sense. It would be like opposing slavery in the US because half the slaves are women. Unlike Saudi Arabia, China isn’t unusually backwards in terms of equality of the sexes, so fixing China’s overall human rights problems does more for women than trying to make them more equal in a society that doesn’t recognize people as important to begin with except in units of a million or more.
The 538ers shoot the breeze: How Much Damage Has The Email Scandal Done To Hillary Clinton?
Short version:
My monocle just fell into my tea!
Yep, knock me over with a feather. Who could have guessed?
The only surprise is that they’re being so open about it. But they can pretty much trust the media to pretend that the GOP’s behavior is no better or worse than what the Dems do, so they probably feel pretty safe saying just about anything anymore.
The Benghazi committee isn’t dropping her numbers, if anything it’s solidifying them. Clinton’s polling on how she handled Benghazi is dismal and was always dismal. The Committee was a waste of time past a certain point.
So they claim they haven’t gotten all the information they need? Fine, put that in your final report and let those who failed to turn over relevant information take the hit for that.
You’ve gone from breathless anticipation to sour grapes. What happened?
Sometimes his reality-resistance bubble weakens a little and some actual facts get through. He’s usually able to repair it before too much time has passed, though.
Clinton’s fundraising drops sharply:

Hillary’s head to head numbers remain poor compared to Biden. She is +0.5 against Jeb versus 6.4 for Biden. She is +3.6 against Trump versus 10.7 for Biden.
If Biden does jump in he will have a credible case that he is more electable than Hillary. His net favorability is also a lot better, +11 versus -12.
My basic take on the race:
Hillary is a mediocre candidate but she will probably beat Sanders and O’Malley quite easily given her massive institutional advantages. However Biden will have a serious shot if he does jump in. If she gets the nomination, her fate will depend on her opponent. Rubio is a far more talented campaigner and I think he will beat her. Jeb is the Republican Hillary; that race will truly be dud versus dud and will be very close. Hillary will beat any of the three outsiders if they somehow manage to get the nomination.
Is the fork in yet?
They’re dropping like flies. Biden, Webb, Chaffee… I doubt O’Malley will be in much longer.
Is it time to cancel the rest of the debates? Sanders is pouring in heart and soul, but I fear the machine is going to grind him to dust.
Sanders will stick around at least through Iowa and NH. He’ll probably do reasonably well and maybe even win one of them (I doubt he’ll win both), and then do poorly in SC and other more diverse states and bow out. I expect it will a pretty graceful resolution, and he’ll heartily endorse Hillary.
Hillary Clinton accuses Sanders of attacking her in a sexist way:
She made those same dumb mistakes against Obama. Democrats want you to accuse Republicans of sexism, not liberal Democrats. That’s off-putting.
You’ve shown very poor ability to read Democrats minds so far; I don’t think you have much idea what Democrats actually want.
I doubt many Democrats would find Clinton’s attempt to portray Sanders’ statement as sexist as anything other than opportunistic. And I don’t have to read Democrats’ minds. She pulled this same tactic on Obama and got nothing but disdain in response. There’s simply no market among Democrats for accusing liberal candidates of sexism unless it’s pretty darn obvious.
