I had a case when i worked in the Sex crimes dept of the PD i currently work for. It involved a 16yr old kid who exposed himself to the five yr old girl next door. The offender was classified as a juvenile because his family had means. His father was pissed off that a local doctor reported it to us… because he of course wanted it handled in house.
That kid probably will not be listed on the registry… so some incidents will occur where you might hire or be involved with people who have criminal sexual incidents in their past.
As a side note what makes this memorable to me was that i escorted the kid across the street to juvenile court where an older security guard said to him… “What’s a nice young white boy like you doing here?”… The kid then basically confessed his offence out loud right in front o both of us… Thanks a lot old man… the Judge was not pleased at all…
Just adding that potentially the registry has its faults… and their may be more perps that we all deal with on a daily basis… kudos to your wife for using resources to at least find this out.
No, I find it shameful that child support enforcement can’t reach independent contractors. More than one kid is a victim here. And quite serious about encouraging you to open your home to this unfortunate and unfairly maligned ex con. I feel that you would talk his damn head off, which would be just punishment for the list of minor offenses, and might even allow others to carry on a conversation here that isn’t peppered with your tedious and constant noise.
RandRover, it doesn’t make any sense for you to tell someone what you would do in their place, unless you think what you would do in their place is what anyone in their place should do.
There are other ways for the law to go after independent contractors, like seizing tax refunds and/or bank accounts. No, they can’t have their wages garnished but that doesn’t mean there is no recourse.

Edit: Oh, voluntary chemical castration or tagging may be effective instead. Also, I recognise not all paedophiles will act on their desires, but a disproportionate number of them will (when compared to the average population). Given screening for paedophilia and psychopaths and adequate provisions for them, I think incidences of child rape and other sadistic crimes will diminish in society.
