The Hearthstone Thread

I got 3 heroes, but all for classes that I don’t play. =( Druid, Warlock, Warrior. I was hoping for Priest or Rogue, or even Mage or Hunter. Those 3 classes are literally my least played classes, ugh.

Everone gets 3 for logging in today. So 3 from the festival, 3 from logging in today, and the solo PVE awards 1?.

I opened 32 packs or so and I got a pair of legendaries - the 2 mana prince, that I might find a way to work into a deck, and the rogue legendary (turn all spells in your hand into spells from your opponent’s class) that I’ll likely never play at all.

I didn’t have any trouble with the 4 boss fights in the adventure.

There is a lot of real garbage in this set, isn’t there? Particularly in the higher rarities. Trump predicts that Warlock and Hunter will be virtually unplayable.

I think Righteous Defender is a class card though. And it should be a slight Stonehill Defender nerf for pally.

Yeah, it’s a class card… But damn. It’s damn near Annoy-O-Tron for one mana less.

I got the bonus 3 packs and got the replacement paladin legendary. Then I went and blew threw the quests. Apparently, it wasn’t my day earlier.

I’ve been using the new jade death deck minus a couple of legendaries and it’s been working ok. I don’t have N’zoth so it’s lacking a finishing move but I think it’ll be sustainable once I fill it out a bit more. Then again I thought that about Murloc Shamen after the last release so my track record is terrible.

Skulking Geist is the card that I find fascinating. It seems outside of forced overdraw Blizzard was shying away from directed at an opponent hand, mana, or deck destruction. Geist and the Death Knight card Death Grip appear to be a move towards at least experimenting with those mechanics.

I pulled both mage legendaries and so I bit the bullet, crafted a couple blazecallers, and made a mage elemental deck, which seems to be terrible. The other legendaries I pulled were the rogue 4/5 that replaces spells in your hand, the druid hero, and Moorabi, who I really want to combo with the guy who freezes your own field. I did not pull the ten mana druid spell, but I’ve had it in both arena runs so far and the spell is filthy crazy in arena.

Well I bought 100 packs with my gold. Got 4 legendaries, Lich King, Scourgelord Garrosh, Hadronox and Bloodreaver Guldan.

I got 21 Epics. 5 of which were Doomerang. Yay.

Ultimate Infestation and Bonemare seem OP to me, but hey, I’ll take 'em if I got 'em. And I does.

Brrrloc did make me laugh though. Oh Blizzard. You so silly.

I got 271 extra common cards, 44 extra rare and 3 extra epic. For 2535 dust.

Anything you plan on crafting with that dust?

It’s basically Golakka Crawler for Jade Druid. They should have made it a crab.

The missions were pretty cool. Uther’s team of awful adventurers was fucking hilarious to see in action. “WHY DON’T YOU HAVE TAUNT?!” I blazed right through each adventure without much trouble - beat the full heal guy with unmodified Lyra combo priest, the weapons guy with a modified pirate warrior (oh hey a 6/3 weapon + Heroic Strike! ). And on the last one I just took secret paladin, dunked two Hozen Healers into it, and called it good.

Oh yeah, the adventures - I went jade druid/pirate warrior for the first two, then made a paladin deck full of 1-health divine shield dudes; I ended up ignoring the dragon and just beating down for 120 damage with 1/1s, 2/1s, and 3/1s plus attack buffs.

Not yet. Gonna wait and see how the meta fleshes out and where things go and then start deciding what to make.

I’m having huge fun with my Bloodreaver Guldan.

Defile is way, way better/more fun than I expected and I had pretty high expectations. I manged to blow up a full warrior board minions up to 9 HP (He had a big Rotface turn). Trade in just the right minon from my side, Mistress of Mixtures/Tainted Zealot/Defile.

So… has anyone figured out what’s good yet in constructed? I’m honestly flummoxed.

Bought the 50 pack welcome pack and had 5000 gold for another 50 packs. After the first 50 packs I had at least 1 of all the commons, 86% of the rares 25% of the epics and 5 legendaries (one of which was the automatic one from the adventure).

After the second batch of packs the total was 100%, 91%, 51% and 26% (6 legendaries), and with the dust I crafted another 2 legendaries and a few epics. I think I’m all set for a good season.

Crafted a weird combo of Quest/Singleton/DK Priest deck which wins me quite a few games, but I have no idea how viable it is when the meta settles down. It’s great fun though.

I’m currently 6:0 with a Jade Druid variant that plays really greedy. Lich King, double Ultimate Infestation, double Auctioneer, Malfurion the Pestilent… Maybe it’s just lucky openings, but so far I’ve never been aggroed down, and once I hit endgame there is not a single deck in the game that can beat me. The only time it was even close was against a Jade Rogue abusing the “extra card” hero power for more jades, but even then my jades were bigger faster. To be fair: I have not run into Pirate Warrior, traditional Token Druid, or Evolve Shaman yet. Mulligan hard for ramp.

I might cut the second infestation. I often end games stuck with one or both in my hand. The deck has way too much card draw and reload, and playing Infestation on curve often results in me burning a few cards. However, I’m loathe to drop one, because when you need an Infestation and get an Infestation, you are going to win that game. The value is just way too insane.

Do you really need gadget in that list? Almost feels like you could put in the 4-mana ramp dude in his place.

Just ran into a very similar deck. It was a close call, but in the end I managed to outlast him with my DK Alduin and well-timed N’Zoths and Amara. It helped that I pilfered an Ultimate Infestation with the Death Knight card that I got from Arfus.
