(Old) The Heat Is On - A Heat Wave MMP

Happy Tater Day!!!

Happy Kaylasdad Day in the past. Feel better!

We are going to get another walk in bathtub/shower combo after trump is gone. We don’t need one now and don’t want to spent the 30G it will cost to redo the bathroom ATM.

Our last place had one as well as a big walk-in shower. I mostly used the shower, but it was handy to be able to have a nice soak without trying to crawl out of our garden tub.

I do like word of mouth introductions for that sort of thing, I hope Nelson likes her

I’ve never had to worry about ticks before. I probably wouldn’t be so paranoid, but I learn from other folks’ suffering and VanGo really taught me that I do not want to experience Lyme disease.

Currently I am feeding 14 possums (I think, they all come at once and move around a lot) because they eat ticks for a living.

I also never had to worry about swimming sniks either. Mostly because folks in Arizona don’t keep their water in lakes or rivers, but that’s besides the point. Today I saw a snik swimming across the river and learned that they have water moccasins in West Virginia. My gast was flabbered once again.

Maybe drop it off before going to the dump, it would be very annoying to get the loads mixed up.

Sing it sister!!! Cover your damned load!!!

Once a co-worker and I were in the work van doing deliveries and a toilet fell off a plumbers truck and Jim hit it - no choice.

That accident report was very entertaining to write and share with management.

I’ve gotten to be an expert in 'merican to 'merican translationing.

At least you have a place to run if needed.

Don’t you kinda want to witness it all falling apart? Cause you know it is going to. Happily your daughter is out of that sordid story now which will make it much easier to point and laugh.

I’ve never heard of such a thing before but it certainly doesn’t surprise me at all. The calcium in hard water is horrible on plastics.

I can imagine how lovely it must have been

HURRAY!!! Birthday plants are guaranteed to grow well! We stopped at a few plant nurseries today but left empty handed. I’m pretty much done with the spring garden (we already have marble sized tomatoes!!!) but am still looking for inspiration for the fence line. I was thinking I wanted crepe myrtles but saw some amazing rhododendrons at the museum today that would be great privacy bushes. If I lived for another hundred years that is.

The two hour drive to the museum was all country roads and the forest was amazing. All of the trees are fully dressed in a thousand shades of green and the forest floor is splattered with color. Most of the reds are gone but the meadows are covered with small yellow flowers and there are white and blue flowers all over the sides of the road.

Folks do like their flowers out here, so many folks have blooming bushes and trees in their yards that just driving around town is a delight to the eyes.

Its almost a year since I joined the cataract club, so this is the first time I’ve been able to really see the beauty surrounding me.

The coal museum was the same as it was back when his folks took us on the tour maybe twenty years ago. I impressed myself by being able to tell Hubs what the exhibit signs said before even seeing them. It was just as depressing as I remembered, human beings shouldn’t have to spend their days working on hands and knees in the dark.

We almost didn’t go, when we got there there were three school buses and groups of kids all over. The kids were being as good as they could and were closely supervised, but it was too much chaos and motion for us so we left to go and have margaritas for courage.

The food was acceptable WV Mexican and it wasn’t covered with queso (no shade on cheese ever, but sometimes I like to taste the other ingredients as well).

I bought some postcards for the exchange - my people will get two each, hubs thought I should buy the ones with the recipe for apple butter (everyone loves apple butter, they would probably like to have a good recipe) and I wanted museum pics. Folks sign up for these sort of things because they like getting not-bills in the mail, my recipients won’t be upset with bonus cards

Gas was 4.29-4.69 depending on the area. I sure do miss ol’ sleepy Joe.

When we got home our lawn was covered with clover and butterflies so the plant-hating jerk I’m married to got on his mower and cut them all down. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

I want him to only mow when Harry mows the gully. I’m trying to convince him that he’s forcing Harry to do more that is good for him after his cardiac issues. Harry won’t back me up so its a wasted effort. Damnit.

We got .02 inches of rain today, a small thunder storm and it was in the low 90’s. There should be a little more rain tomorrow.
