So is anybody not getting triple digits this week? Stay inside if you can, and if you’re in the heat like me, stay hydrated.

lol we wont be not getting triple digits until October I mean well ger a few cooler than normal days here and there but yeah …
Morning, mumpers! No triple digits here, but anything above 20c is too hot for me. Today it’s 12c/54f with a predicted high of 19c/66f. Weather app says “That one guy says, “partly cloudy”. He’s a fucking dumbass though”. It says partly cloudy but it’s actually very sunny out there, and we are predicted to be hotter than Jamaica by the end of the week.
Belated happy birthday, flyboy - I hope you had a good day of treats to celebrate.
Belated cake day too, Boo - I missed both of these by not coming back to the Dope later on Sunday… was there cake on cake day?
Shoe hope you are finding some bright spells and good things to hang on to. Keep your pieces together, young lady!
Our exams are over, that means we are barreling towards the end of session and results release day faster than swampy’s handbasket on an express track. The good news is that it will all be (temporarily) over in two weeks, but these are the toughest two weeks of our academic year. Carnage, I tells ya.
We’re not supposed to get triple digits yet - I think we might see low 90s this week, then mid-80s over the weekend. Unless something else happens… because, yanno, weather.
My bladder woke me around 3 and my brain wouldn’t let me go back to sleep, so I gave up a bit before 5. Critters have been tended, dishwasher has been emptied, and I’m breakfasting and caffeinating as I write.
I had an email from my bro on Thurs but I didn’t see it till yesterday for some reason ( like I didn’t notice it with all the junk in my mailbox…) He’s been helping my mom with her will. They’re going to put her house into a trust so we can avoid probate - I think that’s how he explained it. Anyway, I had to print out and sign a document - in blue ink! I don’t know how many pens I tried before I found a blue one! Anyway, I’ll be mailing it to him today, hoping the USPS doesn’t take to long to transport it 100-ish miles.
FCD has a dental appt at 7 this morning, after which he’s heading to the boat. I hate that he’ll be there alone since he plans to work in the engine room. I have visions of him getting stuck down there if his legs get weird, as they occasionally do. (it’s technical medical stuff that’s weird.) But I can’t go with him because I’ll be watching the babby for a little while, plus I need to wait for UPS to bring the filter screen so I can sign for it. Guess I’ll do some cleaning while I wait.
So, another exciting day at FairyChatEstates! Happy Moanday!!
-=Yawn=- For you it’s a heatwave; for us it’s Tuesday Monday.
Predicted highs this week:
Monday 109
Tuesday 105
Wednesday 108
Thursday 115
Friday 104
Hottest day of the week is supposed to be Wednesday, just barely under triple digits (99F, 37C).
Cats were not exactly restful roommates.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 97 with rain predicted off and on. We shall see. Looks like this will be a good day to stay inside and dry. We shall continue on our quest to reach sloth nirvana along with the usual daily activities of nappage and day drinkin’. I have a poke tenderloin in the slow cooker for sup and need to decide on vegetative matter. I am not real inspired at the moment.
The highest temp predicted here this week is 98 Amurrkin predicted for Sattidy. Factor in the heat index, however, and we’ll have triple digit temps on several days.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Are y’all in Texas?
Colorado mountains here. We rarely hit 80. The last of the snow in my yard melted a week ago.
Morning all. High temperatures are due to be in the 90’s all week and only a small chance of rain, so not in any hurry to get outside. Major duty this week will be refereeing at a youth soccer tournament Friday-Sunday, so need to make sure I’m good for that. Carpeting gets repaired 2sday and then I’ll decide if I’ll submit a claim or not for the leak.
FCM, I’m sure there are other folks around if FCD gets stuck.
doggio, you take care, working in that heat is no picnic.
OK, need to do my morning webcomics and stuff prior to shopping-n-sammich. All y’all take care this week.
One plus: woke up thinking I should take a quick look at Kaiser’s appointment scheduling. Lo and behold, I could schedule an appointment for this Wednesday instead of waiting almost another week. Duly scheduled to get in sooner. I’m running into side effect problems that I need to have addressed.
While there are employees in the boat yard, the chances of someone being near our boat and hearing him should he call out for help is pretty close to nil. On weekends, maybe. During the week? Nope.
In about 10 minutes, I can call my dermatologist to make an appointment. There’s a spot on my scalp that’s starting to feel/act like the one where a malignancy was removed a few years back. I want to get it checked out as soon as I can. Good times…
“East, west, home is best”. Back from my vacay and while it’s fun to travel, it’s even better to come home. Ursala Kitteh missed me about as much as I missed her. Customs at O’Hare. Words cannot describe the thousands of people in an un-air conditioned giant room and my stomach gets very iffy when I am stressed. But I am home. Upper 90s predicted here but I don’t care cuz I am retired. Have I mentioned that???
The heat arrives today in Chicagoland with a heat advisory in effect from 12 noon until 8 pm tomorrow (Tuesday). Temps will be in the upper 90’s, but the heat/humidity index will be between 105 and 110 degrees. I have AC here, in my car, and at home of course, but my outside daily workout is after school at about 3:30 pm, which will be the hottest part of the day. I think it would make a lot more sense for me to go home and go back out at around 8 pm.
Might get up to 65º Ferret Height this week.
Treated to breakfast and dinner, and I had a three-mile walk.
This is going to put fire danger over the top.
Here in northern WA/ID land, the high today is supposed to be 47. And lots more rain. I don’t think the rain will ever stop. Nor spring. Last year, we had a couple weeks of 90-100 by now and we have barely hit 70 this year.
Here in California, we’d love some of your excess water.
There is potential it bites us. All this water has the understory growing like gangbusters. When it finally gets dry and hot (it will) and everything dries out, fire conditions will be worse. I hope that doesn’t happen.
Yeah, I turned the heat on this morning. It was cold in the house.
Mornin all. Having a difficult time getting motivated to go to the shop today. Big case of the donwannas. I really should–I’ve got shit to do.
Hope y’all are doing better than I’m feeling.
