The Hobbit movie(s) anticipation thread

Maybe you didn’t see the news, but this film has a whole BUNCH of dwarves! They can split up the duties, so there won’t be any need for any particular character to play both comic relief and badass.

So the guys who fall through Bilbo’s open door aren’t the guys kicking Goblin ass?

Works for me. They ran out of bubble gum.

Part three of Quint’s filming blog is updated. Wow, looks like Peter Jackson is back to his Lord of the Rings weight.

Oh, this one contains minor spoilers if you have not read the Hobbit or, I guess, not seen the Lord of the Rings. Very minor spoilers, hardly worth mentioning. Basically, they are filming some of the ending.

From theonering.net:

Gandalf chats up Beorn

Yay for progress!

… and more excitingly, Quint’s 4th Hobbit blog is up today. Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

Part 4, Quint, from Ain’t It Cool News

ROFL!

Sylvester McCoy is playing Radagast? Did we know that before?

Doctor Who meets Bilbo Baggins!

Oh yeah. Been happy about that for a while now. Apparently he’s going for the whole absent-minded-professor thing.

I picked up the LOTR Extended Editions on blu-ray a couple of days ago (the price dropped to $49.99 at Amazon and other places) and I can’t wait to give them a watch.

Really looking forward to these movies!

I was going to post the Quint report, but I see someone beat me to in.
Carry on.

Brian

I can mention that report #5 is available:

A brief, but neat one. Sounds like Ian McKellan is working quite a bit for this shooting section.

Nitpick: McKellen.

Keep up the flow of info, please - I’m loving it!

TORn says that the trailer for The Hobbit is done, and a copy has crossed the Pacific in the hands of Elijah Wood and Quint from AICN. The trailer was shown at some convention or other called BNAT13 Film Fest just in the last 24 hours or so. The rest of us have to wait until Christmastime to see the trailer.

But there must be some grainy, shaky recording of it existing somewhere on the 'net, speculation says, even if it’ll be quickly shut down. Can anyone find it before then?

You’d need the luck of, ummm… somebody really lucky to find it!

I adore David Tennant, and would pay to watch him read a laundry list.

And I thought that Legolas was the son of the Wood Elf King, I can’t remember where I packed my silmarillian, so I can’t look it up but I know there is a copy at my mums house that I can check over Christmas weekend.

Right here.

The trailer looks great! I’m not very thrilled with Thorin, but waddayaganadoo?

Also, WTF is up with “An Unexpected Journey”? They should shitcan that ASAP; it’s totally unnecessary.
