Ugh!!! 5-2 final for the Blues. I’m going to go crawl under a rock now.

::crawling out from under the rock::

Sorry for screwing up my attributions there Feynn. BTW, Montreal kicked Devil butt all the way back to the Swamp. GO HABS!!

Just watched the Sens-Rangers overtime period. Man, there was more real hockey there in 5 minutes than in the entire Leafs-Blues game.

Hodge

Woo fucking hoo!!!

That was so good I think I need a smoke…

Did anyone else watch the first two periods and wonder why the score wasn’t 6-0 for the Habs? New Jersey’s defence was pathetic. Brodeur must have had more than a rabbit’s foot in his pocket, I figure he shoved an entire rabbit up his ass to be this fucking lucky.

I was starting to worry that his luck was going to hold but the wheels came off hard in the third period with the Habs scoring two in 20 seconds to put them ahead of the Devils. The crowd almost took the roof off the Molsen Centre. I was going a little crazy here myself with the kids just looking at me like I’d lost my mind.

My one year old daughter just can’t understand why I get so wired when an evil like the Devils is exorcised.

I just saw that St. Louis bombed the Leafs by a score of 5-2 and this will warm jarbaby’s heart as the first star was Doug Weight.

Slip… I guess I won’t be converting my beliefs just yet. You will be welcome whenever you decide to repent and embrace the true faith, the faith that is Les Glorieux.

Feynn, Habs fan extraordinaire.

Now… let’s go see if the Oilers have woken up and rectified the 3-2 situation they were in.

I guess that was so good I had to post twice…

Just an update:

The Oilers just pulled another rabbit out of the hat and beat Nashville 4-3. They are now unbeaten in four.

I would find this hard to believe except I saw it with my own eyes, Vancouver is up 3-0 over the Avalanche after the first period.

Just checking back in so I can reaffirm my faith in the Pens.

Super Mario will bring them back and take them to the playoffs, just wait and see.

Do we have to post everything twice in this thread?
A little note to the Blackhawks: A man can only save so many goals. Good lord, Thibeault is going to collapse from exhaustion eventually. CLEAR THE FUCKING PUCK you asses

jarbaby

No… posting everything twice would be a really crappy idea.

Where’d everybody go?

Do I have to start turning over every rock to see where my favourite Leaf loving flatfoot crawled under? Maybe he went away or was working on the weekend and was spared the horror of watching the Leafs play St. Louis. I know how losing feels, I’m a Habs fan and have gotten used to it over the past three years. This year has been much better, so far.

I believe that the Leafs next stop is Edmonton where they will face the Oilers, they kicked our asses for most of last year so I’ll spot them a point for that. This Oilers team has really matured over the past three years and seems to be doing just fine without Captain Doug as they remain undefeated in their last five starts.

If I was coaching the Leafs I would advise them to score at least three more goals than Edmonton by the start of the third period because this is where the Oilers shine. Put their backs to the wall and they come out swinging.

It promises to be a good game and I am going to have to go with the team that’s on a roll. That would be the Oilers over the Leafs by, lets say… 1 point. The chances of the Leafs being up three after two periods is astronomical so I don’t see them winning this one either.

But then again, I could be wrong on this one. Toronto might actually figure out how to play defense by Tuesday.

Slip? Your predictions?

No… posting everything twice would be a really crappy idea.

Gotcha!

So even Super Mario couldn’t inspire his team to win and the Sabres made the Pens their bitch today. It’s a long season and I don’t expect the Pens to be taking beatings like this for much longer.

Did anyone catch the ass whupping that was Vancouver vs Colorado last night? Four zip for the Canucks. I expected Vancouver to win but didn’t see Cloutier becoming puckproof and logging a shutout against the scoring machine that is (was?) the Colorado Avalanche.

Todd Bertuzzi is a dumbass. Didn’t he know that coming off the bench to join a fight would get you an automatic 10 game suspension?

Sure… Scott Parker had gone after Ed Jovanovski and Scott Parker is a fucking goon and Scott Parker deserves a good beating but DON’T come off the bench and get yourself suspended. The Canucks needed Bertuzzi to be playing since he scores goals and makes plays.

Anyone who disagrees that Parker is a fucking goon can just look at Parker’s stats and see he’s not playing to score goals.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 220 lbs
Position: Right Wing
Played 69 games last year and scored 2 goals and 3 assists for a laughable 5 points. Scott has 0 points in 3 games this year.
Penalty minutes 00-01: 155
Penalty Minutes 01-02: 41 (That’s 10 min per game folks)

To compare I present Ed Jovanovski:

Height: 6-2
Weight: 210 lbs
Position: Defense
Played 79 games in 00-01 and racked up 12 goals and 35 assists for a decent 47 points. Ed already has 4 points in 5 games this year.
Penalty minutes 00-01: 102
Penalty Minutes 01-02: 11

I rest my case.

So I braced myself thinking that it was my turn to get thoroughly basted as we know that the Habs finally lost sniff. I take my lumps as well as anyone.

It wasn’t a big loss but a loss nonetheless. I guess playing 3 games in 4 nights might have had something to do with it and you can’t win every game, can you? The Habs penalty kill remains perfect, this is one stat I can barely believe. But to lose to those overpaid hacks from New York? Damn!

So on to tonight… Slip?

Oilers vs Leafs at Skyreach…

I predict this is going to be one wrecker of a game.

This is going to be a tough one, Feynn.

The Oilers are unbeaten in their last six, but their penalty killing is weak. They gave up four goals in their last three games to power plays. If the Leafs can get their power play working, we might be able to do some damage.

For some reason, though, it takes Toronto a period or so to get going, which is not good. You can’t lounge around with a team like Edmonton.

Personally, I think this one is ours if we want it. Depends on which Leaf team shows up tonight.

The WILD are still unbeaten! Woohoo!
Though no longer at the top of the conference.

Thanks to a former Hab, coach Jacque Lemaire!

Eventually midnight will strike and this playoff contender will turn back into a patsy expansion team. Oh well. The ride will have been fun while it lasted, and we’ll always have the visions of what the future may bring.

Congratulations Jacque, you’ve exceeded this fans Wildest expectations.

I look forward to tonight’s Leafs-Oilers matchup with equal parts dread and anticipation. Slip may be right about Edmonton’s iffy penalty killing, but Toronto hasn’t exactly excelled in the powerplay dept. (23rd in the league I believe). Endless dicking around the perimeter. I also wish we could get some more goal production out of our blueliners and 3rd & 4th lines.

Edmonton, on the other hand, has gotten goals out of just about everyone except Marchant. If Edmonton can keep up the pressure in Toronto’s end, I fear we’ll crumble. Also, Salo is playing a lot better than Joseph, who may not be super-human afterall.

After the St. Louis fiasco, I hesitate to make any predictions. Somebody may or may not lose in overtime.

Wow! I couldn’t even call the overtime right. 4-1 final for the Leafs!! The Oilers played like the Leafs did on Saturday. Two shorthanded goals for the Leafs?! This western road trip may not be as difficult as I’d feared. Too bad Joseph couldn’t shut out his former team mates again. It looks like you’ll have to wait 'til Jan. to get your revenge Feynn.

Oh well, to brighten your night it looks like Lemieux is getting back to form with 3 assists. With Peterson’s hat trick the Penguins made short work of the Sens for a 5-2 final. That’s helluva turnaround from their recent play.

Hodge

PS GO LEAFS!!

I was kinda pissed that I wasn’t able to catch the game tonight but now that I see what kind of fucking train wreck it was I don’t feel so bad.

Four to one with two shorthanded goals for the Leafs?

Holy mother of gobsmack, when the wheels fall off they REALLY fall off don’t they?

GRRR … ARGH!

Another 2 PT. nite.
It’s way early…but, I have a good feeling about this year…
With a little luck it may be time for LORD STANLEY
to come back to the motor city…
ether way will be a gr8 year of hockey…\o/

The Kings freaking lead the league in shots on goal and have also allowed the feewset shots (well that’s what the announcers said last night), but find themselves 1-3-1 (1 OT loss). I cannot take another 1 goal loss in a game the Kings dominated! I am sick of our team missing chances, of goalies playing their best games of the year aginast us. Dammit I just want them to win some freaking games! I am going to the game Thursday against the Devil worshipping, baby-brokering, Nazi Youth Recruiting Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. The Kings better win, Dammit!

Wow. You must really hate ducks.

And they’re so cute too.

Well it looks as if the Wild are going to make us hold our breath a bit longer. Still undefeated (1 of 3 remaining), and currently tied for first in the Northwest Division. Take that Columbus!

Go Jacque!
