elbows’ post in Curtis’ servant thread made realize I have no idea what the joke was supposed to be in Homer’s ill-fated (but hilarious) thread. I’m guessing he was going for monkey butler suit dancer but I don’t get the punchline.

What punchline? He was simply stating a fact.
I’m pretty sure the punchline was “the OP was really drunk”. I don’t think your going to find a much deeper level of meaning beyond that.

I miss Homer. I like to think he grew out of his drunken, mushroom-fueled posting days so we wouldn’t get monkey butlers and shoehorn butterhorse, but he was neat even without that.
As I recall, there was also a darker side about Mexicans allegedly stealing his stereo.
