Seeing as it is after midnight, today would have been mine and Dave’s second anniversary. It’s hard to believe that someone who graced my life for such a short period of time has changed it forever in such a big way.
Not sure how I’m going to spend the day. Some friends are taking me out for coffee and a girl’s night out. I’m thinking that lunch might be at his favorite Chinese restaurant where we celebrated our anniversary last year (albeit a couple days late due to work schedules) and a trip to the local antique mall that we wandered around together. It’s so damn fucking unbelievably unfair that he isn’t here.
I think I should go to bed soon before I spend anymore time sitting here feeling sorry for myself. Goodnight everyone and here’s to a better tomorrow.

I definitely has blurf today- some eejit jammed the doorbell in at 7.30am (I didn’t get to bed until after 1am, so that’s far too early for me), and tried to talk my housemate into letting him into the house so he could see if his mate lived there.
He seemed quite confused that she wouldn’t let him in :rolleyes:
It’s too hot, and I should be doing stuff- starting with buying some pectin and fixing the jam, 'cos it didn’t set, then tidying up, 'cos the parents are over later (if I tidy up first, I know I’ll get jam everywhere and have to do it twice), then doing my washing… It never ends… assumes pose of woe
I think today might be a studio day. When I stopped off to drop off the towels yesterday, the owner asked me for more small pots and such. That’s easy, so I’ll see if I can throw a bunch of little stuff this week. Specifically what she wants is stuff that’ll sell for under $10. I was looking around there yesterday and they have a lot of pottery, but it’s really pricey!! Little salt cellars - $12 each! Plain, medium size pot with absolutely nothing special about it - $45!! Obviously done by potters trying to make a living with ordinary pots.
**FCD **got up with me - miracle of miracles - and he’s scrubbing the shower! Yay!! I tried to let him sleep in, but he’s awake, so now he’s doing chores while I surf and eat. I told him this is my comics-and-Dear-Abby time on line.
There looks to be a line of rain moving our way - I sure hope so! Otherwise, I’ll have to drag the hose around again. I was going to do some laundry, but that’ll have to wait, or I’ll have to <gasp> use the dryer… :eek: We’ll see how that goes.

Blurf! Today is meeting day. I have back to back meetings from 01900-1600. I really need to talk to my assistant about that. Hey self, quit schedulding too many meetings with out any breaks. You know what self, you can just bite me, you can schedule your own meetings from now on. Well that didn’t work out as planned…sigh.

Go Me! ‘Tis a now sunny but earlier foggy 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and “isolated thunderstorms maybe severe late afternoon and early evening” accordin’ to the weather PTB. We shall see.
I met OYKW for brekkie at that place of gourmet delicacies known as Waffle House. I do love me their cheesey aigs, bacon, grits and raisin toast with apple butter. YUM!

I have to leave in a little bit for the north forty to see about gettin’ somebody to irk in a for real job. I hate goin’ up there. It’s a drive through nuttin’ to get to nuttin’ but the reason is good so there’s that.
I’s hot and bothered today. I had to go out at lunchtime to get a birthday card and timed it rather poorly - it’s graduations all week so I had intended to go out just as one ceremony ended to avoid the crowds in the centre part of campus I wanted to get to. Very badly managed, I was too close to the start of the following ceremony so the place is packed with people loitering around taking photos and generally getting in my way.
Thought it started slow but laughed like a loon during parts of the 2nd half. FYI, too crude for kids though. Language is pretty rough throughout.
Rained much of yesterday but today is starting out beautiful. Will get some snorkeling in and then probably drive around the island when Chantal starts to hit.
Lunch break! I threw 9 pots, 7 successfully. All are in the drying cabinet, and my studio is sorta tidied. It’s become a crap repository again, and I just didn’t feel like tidying it. So, lunch.
Daughter has an interview today - fingers crossed…
No marine layer today, so it’ll warm up pretty darn quickly around here.
Yesterday was a very frustrating day and settling MiL’s estate became 10 times harder. We cannot get to the will because she didn’t add my husband as having access to the safety deposit box.
So, now we really need a lawyer because we’re going to have to do things a whole lot differently.
The only bright spot was my bank being extremely kind and efficient in setting up a line of credit for us so we could pay for the funeral.
The rest is a nightmare. We will have get the niece who was living with MiL out of the house fast. I found out she is driving MiL’s car. First, she’s unlicensed and most importantly; she’s unlicensed. Second, there are the insurance issues. Third, I found out she’s back to hanging out with less than savory people and I’m afraid she will go back to her old ways. And finally, I noted a lot of Mom’s medications were missing (pain killers among them).
Today, among our many other errands, we will be going to the house and removing the car keys. I think we should just take the damn car and park it here, but my husband says that’s not necessary. I think it is.
I want to talk to her about leaving and getting her crap out of the house. Since we can’t access Mom’s funds yet and it could be a good long while, we can’t keep paying bills (utilities and such) for her to keep living there.
Besides, as far as I’m concerned, she’s broken any trust I had in her. It makes me wonder if other things are missing.
I have a Dammit. I shall not be touring this summer as the boss is a little shy on cash. He is starting on the East Coast shortly and I was really hoping to meet some of you Right Coast Mumpers, there is always next year. Le Sigh.
The 100 gallon is on the revamped stand, full or fresh water and so far, not leaking.
If all continues well, I will empty it this evening and fill it with reverse osmosis water.
