Futurama baby!! Bender is competing in Ultimate Robot Wrestling.
I’m half watching it for the commercials, and half reading the board here. I was supposed to go to the Superbowl Dopefest, but microscopic creatures have entered the temple which is my body, and have turned it into a biological slum. A side effect of this invading disease army is me being left with six huge bags of various brand-name chip products, which was my duty to supply to the party. I suppose I could make a dent in them in between Nyquil daquiris…
You really don’t want to go there, Purd.
I’m not watching it either, although I’ll admit to having looked forward to the commercials in years past.
I’ve been watching Gone With The Wind since it came on. I don’t even know what channel the Superbowl is on, which is fine with me. Great minds think alike!
Nope. No interest in the SponsorBowl. Got a meatloaf in the oven, having a friend over to work on a project together, then later tonight, The Sixth Sense on DVD. Life is good.
Me, too, Purd Werfect. Sorry you’re sick.
I just made a batch of cookies, and now it’s time to play with the internet. I just can’t get excited about the Superbowl. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I’m at work too, but I work for a cable company so there are T.V.'s mounted everywhere. Each one is of course turned to the game. I look up every now and then when the commercials come on. Other than that, I’m busily reading the SDMB and intermittently getting yelled at by the occasional customer.
Gone with the Wind’s on??? Argh! I missed it!
As for me, I did not watch it. I went to Ray’s house and watched To Kill a Mockingbird. His parents were upstairs watching Babe.
I just woke up from a really long nap. I’ve got about 100 pages left of War & Peace, and I MUST finish it tonight. I need closure. I spent the day out with my roommate. I’m a bit cranky right now, and I have sleepy seeds in my eyes.
I’m not adjusting to the Midwest all that well, am I. I mean, now that I live here, I should really be watching the Superbowl. But I hate that it’s on my birthday. Y’all should be paying attention to ME!!!
It’s not over yet, but once they broke the record for most punts in a Superbowl, I kind of lost interest. Even most of the commercials were pretty uninspired this year.
Commercial spoiler…

(“Running of the squirrels” for EDS was pretty good, however)
Happy Birthday, magdalene!
Does it count if I did watch the game and now wish I hadn’t?
It’s Magdalene’s birthday–why should I waste it watching the Superbowl?
Anyway, with Futurama, Simpsons, Malcolm and X-files on tonight, why would I want to watch some big dick-waving contest?
Now, if it were the Southwestern Women’s Jello Wrestling finals…
I’m not watching simply because I don’t care. I did pick the team I wanted to win, on the grounds that their team name came from Poe.
Who was playing, anyway?
Happy Birthday, magdalene!
I have another friend who’s birthday falls very, very close to Super Bowl Sunday. She hates it. She hates it even more than anyone I’ve known with a December 25th birthday. She hates it more than I hate the fact that my own birthday is July 2, when no one is actually home, because they’re all out celebrating the 4th of July (my own father hasn’t been home on my birthday in 15 years).
Well, I made bread, flossed my teeth, and watched GWTW. Didn’t rebuild my address book. I’ll do it tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day.
I spent the first part of the Super Bowl at a chinese restaurant and the rest of it at home collapsing cardboard boxes and taking out the trash. I’ll catch the commercials on AdCritic later, when I get a chance.
The SuperWhat?
Great plans, guys. From nine to ten I alternated between Millionaire, Gone With the Wind (Ashley just didn’t seem as hot as I thought he’d be), and Superbowl commercials, but i only saw about two. Still working on the deux chevaux essay, about to print it out. Unless i can cram one more piece of useless info in.
Saw most of a funny ep of South Park…of course that was after the game was over, but still.
Would have watched Futurama but I’ve already seen Raging Bender. Twice. To whomever rented Gladiator- good call!
