The I Didn't See One So I Started One MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 for the day. HAWT! Still the humidity is fairly low for around heah, so there’s that. I shall venture over to the west forty first thing this mornin’. Rah.

batman appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job interview.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. At least I get to leave from da cave so I have a little bit of slack time.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Hey, it could be worse! You could have had an interview yesterday.

Oh. Wait.

You never know. Just go in and be yourself (unless you are in real life an unpleasant so-and-so…;):p), listen closely and respond positively but not at great length, and look them in the eye (have I missed any of the basic pep-talk points yet?)

Seriously, I have been interviewed on quite a few ocassions and have even had to do the interviewing once or twice. Your written/electronic records and your ability to do the job they want will weight heavy, you have just got to block it all out and concentrate on the interviewer…if you’re lucky, they’ll want to do all the talking.

And if nothing else, just think that your competition will screw up their interviews even worse.

Good Luck.

Up and caffeinated. I’m off today. I shall go to the laundromat.

Good luck on the interview, batman.

Just getting this far is a big step, job interviews in my specialty area are like hen’s teeth, so you may be right. I don’t think I’ll mess it up, my real fear is I’ll suffer in comparison to the competition.

Oh well, at least it was such short notice I don’t have time to dwell on it.

Shrug, someone will get it, someone won’t. My own field is pretty rarified, often the agents go bananas just trying to get enough people to make it plural; the few times I’ve been on the hiring side, we got several people whose CVs didn’t seem to match reality at all and one who was asking for twice the upper limit of the salary range being offered. Being in contact with reality raised any candidate’s chances enormously. What’s your current job situation like? Sorry but I don’t know. How bad would it be to not get the job?

After a crap ending to my last job I went into a bout of serious depression, homelessness, and then have been struggling to get back on my feet. This is the first interview I’ve had in over a year. I can survive if I fail, but I expect it will be a good while before another one this good will come along.

OK, so it would be a definite Good Thing to get it. Your CV matches reality, though, and you’re not expecting to get a London salary for a job in the North, are you?

I hope it works out. Appendages crossed.

Just remember to wear your underwear on the inside of your clothes and not the outside and you’ll be fine.

But plenty of hugs and prayers will ascend just to help you along.

I am scrupulously honest about it, perhaps to my detriment. I am amazed how many people lie in interviews.

Unless he’s applying to be a superhero, then it needs to be on the outside.

Happy Toosday!

It’s not too hot but it sure is muggy out.

Thank y’all for the hugs and family stories.
I honestly don’t know what is wrong with people sometimes.
Anyway, my mother said the next time somebody says something to her she is going to tell them to call me and I said that will be a short conversation.

I expect ugliness when my mother dies. The HFH is starting again, telling mom that dad promised her she could have this and that and whatever else she wants. The only thing I said is that mom should leave me her rings because I inherited her fat fingers and I’m the only one who can wear her rings without getting them resized. Even then I was joking, except for the fat fingers part.

In the more good news department, I got notice my mortgage is being sold to another mortgage company. I wonder how many ways that will be screwed up?

Batman Good Luck!
I used to interview well and I’ll tell you why. Most of the time the person interviewing you is nervous too, recognize that, have some empathy and it will go well. Smile, make eye contact, and be nice.
Swampy I like the way you think but it would have to be rum and coke, no tequila.

Blurf. Let’s hope I can get some work done today. Awfully hard when my laptop isn’t connected to the internet though. My dad and I tried everything yesterday, and nothing worked. Though if I leave the computer on for a few days, sometimes it connects itself after a while.

Yes, I know nothing about computers, and yet I wonder if I can learn computer programming.

My life is a dead end.

I’m almost out of chocolate. We have a few chocolate cookies left but I shouldn’t eat them all or my sister would get mad.

I managed to quiet the critters and snatch a 2-hour snooze. Now I’m in grubbies and I’m about to attack the garage, before it gets stupid hot out there.

ONWARD!!

assorted appendages crossed for you, Laddie

The dishwasher has run its cycle and is open and drying. The grass seed has been watered. The garage has been mostly tidied - enough that **FCD **and I can get the camper out when he gets home. The cat box has been cleaned. I have been cleaned. And before I could sit to write this, Higgs demanded her dentastix snack. She gets one every morning, and I forgot it today. She deployed the pathetic puppy-dog eyes to remind me. So now all is right with the universe.

And despite my nice, cool shower, I’m all sweaty. I’ve had enough summer, thanks. Can we have an early autumn? PLEASE?!?!?!

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone.

but just last week you were doing a happy dance because you were OW free!

Jeez, will you learn to spell; yous is from Jawja, not Bahstan! :smack:
Good luck, GL.

15 days and some good news can make ANYTHING look good???

Speaking of which I’m back from the humble barber (that’s actually his name – the Humble Barber) and more handsome than usual. I may have to just go around and share my lovely countenance with the world before the rain moves back in.

I decided to make a run into Leonardtown and I scored a 9# hunk of pork loin for $1.98/lb. It will be transformed into several poke roasts and a pile of poke chops. I foresee some smokeage in the near future. Yum!
