The icons next to the sites in my "favorites" bar.

After installing my new HDD (thanks for the help in other threads for those that participated, it was dual HDD failure), I’m repopulating my favorites list. I’ve now noticed that some have the nifty icon next to it instead of the standard ie icon.

I played with Firefox for awhile and most bookmarks had these special appearances, but some of the same sites still show the ie in IE.

Is there a way to change some setting to allow for the icon to be saved? If so, how?

I hope somebody knows what I’m talking about. It’ll make ID’ing the bookmarks easier. (included are ESPN, FOX, etc.) The only one I have right now is Bob & Tom.

Again, thanks for any help.

IIRC, it’s called the favicon. Not every website has one. If one favorite/bookmark doesn’t have one, but you’re sure it did before, laod up the page from the link in the bookmarks folder, and that sometimes gets it to show up.

For whatever reason, favicon support in IE is somewhat spotty. Firefox and other browsers seem to handle it much more reliably.
