: slaps Flytrap with a frozen trout :
Nah, use a fresh mackerel. Iffn you whap him just right, it’ll bend around & smack his other ear also.
That’s what I had for supper.
My day began with paying a dumbass tax.
We had a hard frost last night and I knew that I would need to go out to the car a couple of minutes early to warm it up and scrape the windows. I got it cranked up and got out to scrape the side windows while the defrosters did their thing. When I went to get back in, I found all of my doors locked. :smack: With my purse and phone planted beside my lunch on the passenger seat. :smack: :smack: And my apartment key on the ring with the car key. :smack: :smack: :smack:
I flagged down the only other person out at that chilly hour. With my rusty Spanish and his wife’s broken English, we communicated the need for me to use a phone (and I know absolutely no phone numbers).
An hour and $165 later, the locksmith had me into my (now) toasty warm car.
I stopped at the local hardware store on the way home to have a spare key cut and get one of those magnetic key boxes to be hidden outside so that I could come indoors and get the spare car key next time (and you know there will be a next time).
I like your idea, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. Or at least buy you a beer, next time I’m up that way.
For a while, I was on a first name basis with the one locksmith.:smack:
FCM, We have a Texas Roadhouse near me, but don’t usually go there, usually it’s Outback or Longhorn or Logan’s Roadhouse. How are their steaks (I’m like flytrap in one regard, I don’t like fish either)?
Red, I’ve done the locked keys in car routine too, and I don’t think I have a spare either (will look into that next time I take the car in for servicing).
swampy, it appears that your cholesterol level may be slightly higher by tomorrow evening…
Absolute nothing day except for re-starting the hot water heater. It seems to be pooping out about every three days, after working fine for years. I wonder if it has something to do with the new roof installation, since it seems to have started about that time. Will probably have to get an ex$$$pert out here to take a look.
Evaluating players tomorrow morning for indoor soccer teams (games start in
January). At least I will get some exercise.
I keep a car key in my wallet.
But you are a girl with a purse…
In less than 12 hours Santarchy hits Pittsburgh. This year I am going a little different for me. Some will say that I have to take his shoes off with an hex wrench, and that my new year’s resolution is to eat fewer mice. But I won’t be the Stig; I’ll be is the Stig’s sleigh-driving cousin – North Pole Stig.
13 hours and 34 possible bars ---- the liver is evil and shall be punished.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Have one(bottle? keg?) for me!
Personally, I think Outback is overrated and we’ve had far too many bad experiences with Longhorn (two different locations) so we avoid then. I think the Roadhouse does fine with steaks and ribs. I’m not a huge fan of either when seafood is available, but every once in a while, I want some dead cow, and TR has never let me down in that regard.
The only thing about them I really dislike is that periodically, they crank up the music and the servers start doing a line dance. It’s most annoying when you’re trying to pay your bill and leave. Plus I don’t much like country music, and especially not when it’s loud. Last night, we were seated in the non-dancing section, so that was nice. OMG, and their rolls and cinnamon butter are amazing!!! Give it a try - and if you’re going during a busy dinner hour, do call-ahead seating. And they put buckets of peanuts on the table - if you’re allergic, maybe you shouldn’t go there.
And for all you folks who don’t like fish: GOOD! More for me!
We were watching a really interesting program about Hubble, but I kept dozing off, so shortly before 9, I went to bed. Then I woke at 1, dammit, and flopped around for an hour anna half or so. Woke again around 4:30, then again around 6:30, when Higgs starting barking. Puppeh has been fed and cat box has been scooped. **FCD **is still sleeping - when I woke at 1, he was out in the living room watching TV - his back was hurting him, so he was waiting for the meds to kick in. When he gets up, we’ll figure out our day.
Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 49 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 64 and mostly cloudy for the day. The BIG item on the agenda for the day is the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast which we shall hit up in about an hour. After that it’s back to da cave where I shall bake a small boneless ham in the slow cooker and make a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea for First Sunday Brunch over to the church house tomorrow. This afternoon we attend the birthday soiree for the seven year old. Tonight we chill. Rain is promised again on Moanday. We shall see.
OK, I need more caffeine and also to purtify to venture out into the public.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
We had a Cracker Barrel breakfast. WHY do I always get the tomato slices with the core?? ICK ICK ICK!
Then we went to WalMart and didn’t have a horrific experience! I got the kitteh kibbles and **FCD **got some black pants, and we got out of there quickly. It’s a holiday miracle!!
Bacon, snausage, and pancakes got ingested in mass quantities. Then we went to :eek:The Maul:eek:. OK, just to Jacques Pennè and not in :eek:The Maul:eek: proper but still, close enough. Chillage now ensues until it’s time to head on over to this afternoon’s soiree.
Guys. Have you been to Rosie’s FB page today?
Up and caffeinating.
One of the things that I need to pick up when I go to Tar-jay for prescriptions today is a fire extinguisher. Y’all teasing doggio reminded me that this apartment didn’t come with one and, while I hope to never need one, I should still have one in the kitchen. I need to pick up one of those indoor retractable clothesliines for the laundry room now that it’s sweater season.
Off to the shower!
Oh. My. Is this confirmed?
Is this real??
I don’t know. I am stunned and very sad.
There’s a post saying she succumbed to pneumonia. I knew she was in rehab after a fall and had gotten ill. This is horrible.
Yes, horrible.
Very sad. She just posted the other day she was getting better.
