The Important Birthday MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Today is my Firday.

{{{**Butters{/b]}}} hope you can get some sleep tonight.

**Sunny **- why are you de-purple-ing? Bored with it? My youngest sis is the queen of hair colors. She’s had hot pink, lime green, golden-arches yellow, bright red, plus literally a rainbow on her head and occasional 2-tone treatments. Her current look is silver with purple touches.

I never had the nerve to try unconventional colors. Dunno if I would have when I was younger, but in my old age, I’m content with what I’ve got. [brag] 62 and nary a gray hair yet! [/brag]

It’s a drizzly morning and we’re promised rain thru the day. It’s supposed to creep up to the low 70s, then plummet with the approaching front - I think tomorrow’s high will be low 50s. Such goofy weather!

Happy Last Day of November!!

With all those extra aitches, now I’m picturing a chihuahua wearing a coat covered in mother-of-pearl buttons.

I wish you luck. Most dye removers just kind of “trick” your hair into thinking it’s the color under the color. I don’t know how they work, but I’ve never seen one work for long. I loved having the crazy bright colors in my hair, but for some reason, my hair doesn’t want to keep them, so after about two weeks I’m left with an indeterminate color of “meh” and frazzled, bleached ends. :frowning: I’m dyeing it back to a “natural” color regularly now, as the ends fade and turn pink because I had to have all the blue stripped out a few months ago and my hair doesn’t understand what color I want it to be anymore. I’m thinking of chopping it all off short short short again and letting it grow in just to see what color it might be. I’m thinking a dark auburn with a lot of silver. I never noticed all the gray until I had to pay attention to my roots.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and rain for the day. It has yet to rain. I will believe it when/if it happens. I look at TWPTB with suspicion. :dubious: Other than some laundry no big plans for the day. We shall dine upon leftover enchiladas tonight. OLÈ!

{{{CupCakes}}} I understand what you said. I miss my own father and younger brother still. Happy belated birthday to CupCakesMom!

Nava for all we know Butters has just such a coat for King Louie.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify a bit and get busy with laundry. Such is the excitatin’ life of the retired.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

If there’s enough of 'em, you could dye it dark & then let the grey roots grow out. Iffn you go that route, I know the perfect French lover to set you up with. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blurf. No, really. Blurf.

I started back at irk today, but because the manager I was supposed to be reporting to wasn’t here for the past two days, he had no idea I was coming back. Fun fun. I have no computer access, no cubicle, and no badge yet. I regret taking that promotion and I really want to go home.

Rain with occasional thunder all night here in North Ali-bama, but it is moving north and east and should be drying out (more rain is forecast for the weekend).

The December grocery shopping run is on the schedule for today, I put together the shopping list yesterday, so only decision is Wal-Mart, Kroger, or Publix (all about the same distance from my house).

Had a guy come out from the internet service to hook in a new box, suppossedly my internet speed is now 2-3 times faster. I guess we’ll see.

Happy Hump Day!

We have rain and it’s supposed to go up to 63, then the temps drop again.

Nothing special planned for today, should be boring, just the way I like it.
Meatball sandwiches are planned for dinner, quick and easy when you use frozen meatballs and a jar of spaghetti sauce.

Just finished editing one monster drawing and about to start another.

The hits just keep on coming!

blurf At irk of course. Tis the end of the month. I have a lot of changes to make to the database but have to do it after business today and before sales tomorrow so I may be here very late.

We continue with very warm weather for this time of the year but one bright spot is today is the end of hurricane season.

Lunch break!

I think I have enough on my desk to keep me busy for the rest of today, but dunno about the rest of the week. We shall see.

I kinda cajoled my sweetie into going to the company holiday party on Dec 10. He really doesn’t want to but I kinda want to see what it’s like. Plus free food and drink! And if we hate it, we’ve got car keys and we can leave. So Ho Ho Ho!!

Still no rain but am told it’s comin’. :dubious: We actually are in a tornado watch fwiw. Laundry is all done so there’s that. Go Me!

Butters better you than me with the EOM stuff. Have I mentioned lately how much I like bein’ retired?

Ariel, my red headed mare, stepped on my foot November 12. It still hurt like a bear Monday night so yestiddy I went to the ortho clinic for x-rays. Surprise, my toe is fractured! Thank you Miss A. Amazing how an owie little toe can make your whole body feel bad.

Sounds like Puddy Tat has you trained.

Moooom, I don’t have gray hair at 53 either by very careful calculation. :stuck_out_tongue:

drae, lotsa luck with letting the gray come in naturally. From experience, we redheads don’t do it well (speaking as someone who tried it a few years back). Mine got to the color of an apricot poodle when I decided that blonde was the next step until it was all white.

metal mouse, we got a good rain too. That and teams of firefighters are the reason that Dollywood didn’t go up in flames in the eastern part of the state.

wet one, it surprises me that you don’t have more than one fracture. A good sized nanny goat fractured two of the bones in my foot once.

The fan was clean by lunchtime, so I bugged out. I’m getting ready to pay bills then go to Murfreesboro to pick up a block printing press that I found on CL. One of the things that I’m branching out to in the studio is lino block printing. It looks like fun and I’m hoping to get good enough to do some of my own graphics in linoprints.

Well, I used a peroxide based one, not one of the trickers. Now I’ve got strips of almost normal, a thin line of purple at the scalp, a few strips of green where the purple didn’t come out and a little pink in places. See, the stylist used a bunch of different colors all over my head, which is the mane (ha, ha - get it) reason I can’t stand it. It just looked like someone sneezed dye on my head. What I wanted was a nice dark indigo with a few streaks of lighter purple near the front. Tonight I’ll try it again. If that doesn’t work, at least enough to live with (and it’s pretty close now, compared to what it was, particularly if I pony it up all the time), then I will walk into a salon and force someone to FIX IT. The last place refused because they didn’t want to use bleach. I wanted them to use bleach. What they recommended instead just made things worse. Arg.

But, hey, you’re back at work. They’re paying you. It’s annoying, but just focus on the money, money, money (ABBA going in your head yet?).

Yesterday was a VERY long day. 'Beamer went to school and proceeded to do what he does so well. A characteristic of autism is low awareness of one’s own body (they also seek stimulation and sensation). Another is very high pain tolerance (or maybe since they don’t understand it, they ignore it). He proceeded to spend the day carelessly banging his arm into things. By the end of the day, when he got home, he was in agony. He had ripped up work in multiple classes, and basically regressed almost 2 years behavior-wise. The school called me. Thankfully, they were just concerned about him, not ready to suspend him. Orthopedics can’t see him until tomorrow. Basically, no one will prescribe pain meds for kids. (I could scream.) Long story short, too late, he’s staying home today. We’ll try and get a little schoolwork done, but I don’t know what will happen. He is now convinced he’ll be suspended and the world will end because he is missing school and having trouble with work because of his arm.

Then 'Beamette pulled the classic “I have a project”, which I knew and have been pushing her on for a while. She finished at 1 am. She asked if she could stay home today. I said “No” in my firm, not kidding around voice.

Finally, to wrap up my long rant today. It’s my birthday. As predicted, no one has remembered it.

Happy Birthday Me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY****

All of you women without gray hairs should be thankful. I have a patch of gray right in the front. I am naturally very dark brown so it sticks out like a sore thumb. I get it covered about every 6 weeks. My hairstylist tells me there is none in the back at all. I am just not ready to let it go yet.

The day continues to drag on by slowly. I have been chipping away at the pile.

My Lucky Louie is lying here sound asleep and snoring, Bless his heart.

And now this…
<AHEM> CLEARIN’ THROAT <AHEM>

HAPPY SUNNY DAY!!!

You weren’t forgotten, we were just saving it. No, really. Right, gang??

Just finished everything on my desk and quitting time is about 10 minutes away. So I’ll deliver everything to Tim and hope he’ll have stuff for me to do tomorrow.

Supper will be fish of some sort and maybe au gratin N.O.T. and some sort of veggie matter. C’mon Firday!!

OK, are you just messing with me or is it also Red’s birthday? I’m ok with shared celebrations. I just want to know whether to glare at you or not.
