The Impostor/Starship Troopers connection

I watched Impostor last night and noticed more then a few things reused from other movies. Perhaps there are more, but here are a few I caught.

  1. The suits worn by the police in Impostor are the same ones worn by the troopers in Starship Troopers.

1b) As are the helmets.

  1. The gray suit Gary Sinise wore in the half the movie looks like the suits worn in the boot camp scenes of Starship Troopers.

  2. The chair they strap Gary into in the first scenes of Impostor really looks like the same one used in the murderer caught/trial news blip from Starship Troopers. In the blip they show a shot of the execution chair… that’s the one.

  3. There were some news blips in the first part of Impostor. One image showed a city with a huge crater in the middle. It was only on screen for a brief second, but it sure looked like the shot of Paris after the comet/metor hit in either Deep Impact or Amageddon (I think Deep Impact)

Did anyone see Impostor? Did you notice any other props from other movies?

I’m confused. You seem to be referring to Starship Troopers as a movie… So far as I know, other than an obscure anime, there is no movie of Starship Troopers.

I think he means that he refuses the existence of the movie, because it bears little resemblance to the book after all. I kinda liked it anyway, but it really isn’t very good.

From the Imdb Trivia section…

“One of the shots in the beginning of a rocket being launched is from Gattaca (1997).”

That was the other one I noticed. :smiley:
