The irony of our BBQ-Pit

The irony is this…

We find plenty to piss us off and post about in the BBQ-Pit… until things become truly shit. When that happens all the normally pittable aspects of our lives take on an insignificance that prevents them from inspiring enough motivation to move us to construct a pit thread.

Or to put it another way… Nothing pisses me off anymore.

I seem to have outgrown material annoyances… or rather I have developed effective ways of escaping/avoiding/dealing with them.
Whatever it is that has brought this whole thing about; I recommend it.

Thanks, but it’s probably illegal in the USA.

Lobsang, it’s called Apathy

ap·a·thy (ăp’ə-thē)
n.
Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference.
Lack of emotion or feeling; impassiveness.
[Latin apathīa, from Greek apatheia, from apathēs, without feeling : a-, without; see a–1 + pathos, feeling.]

I know you’ve been through a long and emotionally draining experiance and I think you are just numb from the ordeal. However, if it works for you in the here-and-now, it can’t be all bad

I can’t understand why anyone would bother with apath, or even why would they even…

:::::::::::sigh::::::::::::

How Zen of you.

I don’t go to the pit too often. I usually think: If this is the worst thing to happen to you today, your life is pretty darn good.

But people use it for venting and maybe it is better to do it here than to wig out at work.

Still when I DO read the pit, it seems that a lot of people are very angry most of their lives.

I am so glad to learn that I am not the only person who thinks this. Thank you.

The entirely opposite of “Don’t Get Mad, Get Even!”

It’s “The unsinkable Molly Brown” attitude modified into “The Unflappable Molly Brown” attitude.

Went to the Pit once and have never gone back. Khadaji is right, they seem to be angry all the time. And most of it just doesn’t make sense.

I dunno, I kind of like purusing the pit. I find the rants amusing (and often well written) and if its over something trivial (like, say, leaving the toilet seat up or down) that makes it all the more interesting.

We all have moments of iridescent anger over silly things from time to time. It doesn’t mean you are angry all the time if you take some comfort and letting that spew out in words.

Thats not also to say some people arent angry all the time.

(Risking the pit.) Old age?

Maybe you have become aware that it’s just a message board and has little real effect unless you allow it.

I love the Pit. I don’t post there very often, but it’s the first forum I read every day. It’s got a little bit of everything. Some rants are  , some are really funny (intentionally or not) and entertaining, and some have all the makings of a Great Debate liberally strewn with F Bombs and inflammatory remarks.

mmmmm… “G.M.T.A.”

I second that emotion.
