The Jump songs playlist.

Right off the top of my head (and also in my iTunes) I got:

Jump- Van Halen
Jump- Kriss Kross
Jumper- Third Eye Blind
Jump For My Love- The Pointer Sisters
Jump Around- House of Pain

I’d like to fill a whole CD with “jump” songs. What other songs can I put on it?

Jump - Madonna
Jump - Kylie Minogue
Jump For Joy - Jacksons
Jump In My Car - Ted Mulry Gang
Jump In The River - Sinead O’Connor
Jump N Shout - Basement Jaxx
Jump Then Fall - Taylor Swift
Jump They Say - David Bowie
Jump To The Beat - Dannii Minogue
Jumpin’ Jumpin’ - Destiny’s Child

One O’clock Jump
Jumpin’ Jack Flash

Jumpin’ Jive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGcJfSXLg-g (Joe Jackson version live)

That was cool. Here’s the original by Cab Calloway.

“Jumpin’ Jack Flash” is a good one.
Does the word have to appear in the title? “Shout!” contains the line “Jump up and shout now” (there’s a Beatles version in which people make claim to an obscene Mondegreen in the line), and “I Am the Walrus” has a background chorus chanting “Umpa-lumpa, Stick it up yer Jumpa.”

Jump Jive An’ Wail - Brian Setzer Orchestra.

XTC - Jump
The Cure - Jumping Someone Else’s Train

Jump Into The Fire

I would go with the original by Louis Prima.

“Jumpin’ at the Woodside” by Count Basie.

Oh Carolina - Shaggy (jump across)

“Did She Jump or Was She Pushed?” - Richard Thompson

Here are some songs in my collection that haven’t yet been mentioned, some of these might be a stretch for the theme however…
Frank Blank “Jumpin’ Beans”
Guided by Voices “Watch Me Jumpstart” and “Maxwell Jump”
The Olivia Tremor Control “Jumping Fences”
King Missile - “The Boy Who Ate Lasagna and Could Jump over a Church”

A great song, but I feel compelled to note that Linda sings it and was credited as a co-writer.

“Jump to It” by Aretha Franklin

Does the word have to be “jump” or can synonyms like “hop” be used?

That would let you add songs like:

“Cretin Hop” by the Ramones
“At the Hop” by Danny & the Juniors
And so on.

“Jump Right Out of this Jukebox” - Onie Wheeler
“Jump Down, Spin Around” - Harry Belafonte

Friendly Fires, Jump In The Pool.

Jesse Cook, Jump Start (neither of those kids is Jesse Cook, but it gives you the idea).

Jump in the Line, move your body in time! OK, I believe you!

Jump On It - Montrose
