The thread goes ever, ever on…
Some people STARTED posting to it, not knowing what it was, . . .
I think someone once did a statistical study of thread killers on the SDMB and I came in in the top 5 or 10. Just to keep my hand in…
The euphemistic use of the phrase “Kiss of Death” to mean to end something is first cited in the 1940’s in the US.
And they’ll continuing posting to it forever just because…
I thought the kiss of death was when she catches you kissing her sister.
I always thought the padlock was for threads which has violated Board rules.
I have killed a few threads in my day… let’s see if I can add this one to my list…
But can you match my thread-killing powers?
I think not!
Not always. There are times when a thread–not in violation of board rules–becomes a bit too long and spends more than its fair share of time on a forum’s front page. Or there are other times when threads go on for so long that there’s no new direction for the thread to take; or there’s nothing new being contributed. We occasionally close those down to give other threads a chance to shine on the front page of the forum.
Ha! Last person to post to page one.
I think that the thread killers in the top percentile, don’t know that a subject has been kicked to death and everone else went home. This is the last post I put to this thread. Bye. See you at the end of another thread guys and gals.
So, what we got here is like “Thread Killer Death Match,” a clash of Titans, if you will.
So what is the official rule for killing the thread? If no one posts to it for over 24 hours? A week?
You think those of us with The Skill would reveal its secrets to you?
(I bet he thinks he’s killed it now.)
(Well, he’s wrong.)
When you’ve killed a thread, you just know.
And you don’t brag about it either.
I provide full-service thread extermination. Just watch this one die!
Me too.
