The last in 2011 MMP

But you’ll be moving farther from meeeeeeeeeeeeeee…

Without details to the contrary, if you’re getting moved because of the job, pro movers make the job a lot less intimidating. The guys that took us to Virginia and the ones who brought us to Merrylande made it great. Pretty much all I had to worry about was where to buy pizzas and getting rid of the boxes.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chilly 38 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 65. Tomorrow’s high is predicted to be 70 Amurrkin. A heat wave!

{{{LiLi and Gnat}}} Hope the little feller is ok. I hate diabetes too. Never let it be said a bandwagon came by and I didn’t jump on it.

A[sup]2[/sup] how tragic about Mr. Bill! OH NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I am glad Sweet Pea is findin’ consolation in her kong and Pupperoni.

{{{Annie}}}!!! Long time no see! How the heck are ya?

shortdrum do I need to lecture? :dubious:

Feel better soon Taters!

Now I must seek more caffiene and feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. May the next two days be as uneventful as the past two days.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Hockey tonight.
{{{{LiLi and [n]Gnat**}}}}}

Up waaayy too early. I have a self-induced headache this morning. I had a little too much fun last night! I think today will definitely be a chill-out day.

I hate diabetes, too.

Oh, good. Everyone hates it.

Mr. Lissar says they were transferred to a real room about an hour ago. I’m trying to find out if I should go- okay, this post was paused, and we’ve decided I should stay home and run laundry, because the hospital is full of flu and I’m incredibly pregnant.

Gnat’s still throwing up, so he’ll be in until he can keep anything down. I’m still running lots of laundry. No laundry shortage.

{{{LiLi & fambly}}} - I can’t even imagine what it’s like for you… All kinds of healthy and happy thoughts coming your way!!

Kinda makes my whines seem self-indulgent. Oh what the heck - they are! :stuck_out_tongue: Stoopit dog got me up too early again, and I never really got back to sleep. I drifted in and out of a bizarro dream for about 3 hours, then gave up and got up. We decided last night that today would be house-cleaning day. **FCD **can help some, but since he can’t bend or lift anything heavier than 5#, he’ll mostly be tidying little stuff. The biggest part for me will be whole-house vacuuming and spot carpet-cleaning. The general straightening is more annoying than difficult.

Daughter de-virused her grandparents’ laptop, but now it won’t talk to the router. I got a desperate email from her this morning looking for ideas. Best I could suggest was uninstalling everything to do with the router, running a cleanup program or two, then start from scratch. Or maybe hardwiring into the router. Can a virus screw up a router and/or modem? Maybe they need to contact the cable company? Stoopit computers.

I need breakfast. Happy Thursday. Send help.

{{{LiLi, Gnat and Family}}} hope he’s all better soon.

MOOOOOOM if’n it ain’t talkin’ to the router I’d say call the cable company cause it’s their router and maybe they can get the puter and router on speakin’ terms again. They can get in a snit with each other from time to time.

Hangin’ out at the front desk at irk again. 'Tis boring! So, I play on teh intartoobz.

The move is not job related, as I’ve been on LongTermDisability for months, now. But Bro and the rest of the family are worried about me because I don’t have a decent suppost system in place (one of the downsides of being single).
It will end up being cheaper than the remodel, but thousands times more stressful. I am making my pros and cons list, but I don’t think I can do anything until all the red tape with the insurance company has been slashed - I’m still waiting on back pay.
as for diabetes, I have to say I’ve always felt lucky that the only thing my weight has caused is osteoarthritis. My blood pressure, blood sugar, and cardiac numbers are staying within acceptable bounds.
eta - Bobbio - if by some miracle you find yourself transfered to Long Island, I’ll consider staying.

LiLi - So sorry about Gnat. This is one side of diabetes that I didn’t know about. I’ve been lucky in that the only person in my family who has it is my step dad and he has Type 2. I hope Gnat stops puking soon!

Swampy - No lectures necessary. I’m on vacation so while a lack of motivation is annoying, it’s not actually harmful. Unless you’re talking about the assessment…in that case, maybe.

One of my perfect slippers has been in the mouth of a dog already. Luckily all she did was chew off the pompom so if anything, she made it more perfect.

shortdrum, young lady, have you done that calculus assessment yet? No? Well, do you think it’s just going to do itself because it won’t. March yourself in there and get busy! The sooner you start the sooner you’ll be finished. No excuses! I said get busy. NOW! Don’t give me that look! Do you want your face to freeze like that? Not a peep until you’re finished!

Howzzat?

Rosie we don’t bite. Much. Where might you wind up?

For all who had sucky 2011s I’ll repeat Kopeks Bad Year Tradition ----- around the 30th gather up all your 2011 calendars. Wait for midnight New Years Eve/Day and toss all those puppies on a well-burning BBQ grill or wood fire. Not fire places so much because of the danger to roofs. But take that year and just wipe it out - start with a totally clean slate. Done it a few times and finds it helps.

Tidying is done. Dishes have been washed and all counters have been wiped down. Toaster has been de-crumbed. **FCD **dusted and I vacuumed - as well as I could considering our vacuum is about dead. New one has been shipped, so with luck, I’ll have tomorrow.

Now I just need to pull out the shampooer and spotclean the dining room, living room, and hall. Then I can rest. Except that I need to build the beef stew for supper. Dang - no rest for the weary… :stuck_out_tongue:

On the upside, the shirts I ordered have arrived. I will soon unpack them and decide if they stay or go.

IF I move, it would be to somewhere within a half hour drive of Mansfield, preferably to the north or northeast.

BUT I think I am going to stick with the original plan of doing the remodel and trying to get my life in order.

Gnat’s doing better, but will still be in hospital overnight to make sure he’s stable. TomKitten is doing his level best to make sure I’m not lonely for tantrums and demanding behaviour. Sweet little kid. I won’t kill him unless he wakes up at 4:45 again tomorrow.

I got my buckeyes done, finally. Went to Wally*World to get a double boiler, and they didn’t have one. What I thought was a unit turned out to be a steamer. Chocklit doesn’t do well in a pan with holes in the bottom… :smack:

VWife found an electric chocklit melter in mthe cake baker’s section, and it cost me $20. Worked like a champ, too.

So, my buckeyes are dipped. They ain’t as pretty as I’ve seen, but they go down just as well…

My mom has type two, really well controlled now that’s she’s in residential care. It nearly killed her a couple of times, broke her hip due to black outs, lying on the floor for over a day, just awfulness.

And type two is the ‘easy’ one. How screwed up is that?

Supper was yum and I’ll be freezing a sack of leftover stew. Then I’ll assume the knit position for the evening. Early to bed tonight, methinks…

Oh I forgot the turkey! I went out and bought a turkey and fixings since I’ve already gone through the Thanksgiving turkey. I’m a single person and I demolished that lovely bird in very few days.

So I’m gonna do it again as soon as it defrosts, and you can’t stop me. Turkey soup turkey soup turkey soup!

{{{LiLi & Gnat & Co.}}}

Diabetes is a pain. My dad and my uncle have Type II as did my Sainted Grandma F. (That’s actually what contributed to her death–what with the gangrene in the foot and all.)

Still putting off packing. I roped Culinary Boy into helping me but he’s at A Meeting right now.
