I did some research. Apparently, fire weapons and nail bombs are his weakness, but I don’t have any of those.

Have you scavenged the area carefully? Is there enough stuff around to make a molotov or two?
Aside from that, I gather that the bloaters’ armor is mostly on their bodies. Maybe run around a lot and look for head-shot opportunities? (Obviously, clear out lesser enemies in the area first, if you can, and conserve as much ammo as possible.)

You may not realize it, but this is actually a form of threadshitting. DO NOT do this. You have been told this a few times…you will start getting warned for it if you do it again, unintentionally or knowingly or not. It’s always best not to say anything if you’re not sure if it might come off as a “putting the thread down” type of comment.
You should have unlocked nail bombs when meeting with Bill and gotten two of them then (the one you pick up when he introduces them to you and one upstairs in a room’s corner). You should also have more than enough to craft one or two of your own by now…you do this by holding down the middle button on the controller…it will take you to the crafting screen. Craft more nail bombs.
If you don’t have the materials to craft another yet, start looking EVERYWHERE, especially in cupboards or drawers or on shelves or on the ground in corners and near cars or on tables or in tents…resources can be found many times in these spots.
My first tiny inkling was that it was in a forum called The Games Room.

I am truly sorry, especially to Grrr!, if my first post was taken as anything but amusement at the (to me) head-scratching obscurity of his post. I’m not usually thrown by such things, but I enjoyed the post as a lost verse to “Jabberwocky” and was trying to comment in that vein. Epic fail, apparently; I apologize.
FWIW: I never took offense. I thought you were confused because you were thinking: “Grrr! doesn’t play video games. What the heck is he on about?”
Which would have been true just a few months ago.
