Herb Reed, the last of the original, wonderful Platters, died yesterday (June 4) at 83. Will key them up tonight on my iPod on my way home.
What a beautiful voice the man had. Only You, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Harbor Lights, Great Pretender. The Platters were one of the greatest singing groups of all time, IMO.
