The local news must not have much of a sense of humor

Here’s a local story about a missing person. Whatever the case, I don’t think it will end well. My comment, which was deleted within about two hours: “What I wanna know is, ‘Did they find the pitchfork?’”

ETA: Compared to some of the really nasty stuff they let slide on stories, I thought this was mostly inocuous, and was adding a little levity to a grave (probably literally) situation. But, it’s their website, and apparently they saw things differently.

Mr Tucker’s noticed that the missing person bears a resemblance to this fella.

Ah. Big picture didn’t load up for me.

The other commenters seem to have an issue with the man’s actions. Your comment is poking fun of his looks. Don’t get me wrong it’s all tasteless. I guess someone has to filter vulgar-tasteless from crass-tasteless.

Considering that most South Carolinians probably don’t give half a shit about the work of some Iowa painter from the last century, you could also have been filtered out as a cultural elitist.

“Grant Wood” 20th C. Regionalist painter, or supplication to the god Priapus.

I gotcher cultural elitism right here!

One assumes you also saw the brilliant headline “Pedestrian fatally hit by fire truck driven by naked man” today?

Oh, yeah. Hey, it worked. I clicked on it.

And, for a closer comparison of the people mentioned in the OP

The resemblance is so vague that I wouldn’t say it’s the local news that has the problem with humor.
