I’m sorry for your Mom, & for you. 
I’m so sorry, Broomstick. My dad passed on 2/23 last year. He went into the hospital on Monday night, and Saturday morning, he was gone.
We were lucky to be able to be with him almost continuously for those last 5 days. He wasn’t really awake/alert after Thursday, but we still sat around and talked. We had the sense that he was somehow a little aware of us being there.
He was the first person I ever saw die. It was hard, but I am so, SO glad we had that time to be with him and with each other.
Best wishes to you and your family. It’s hard, but pulling together makes it a bit easier.
May your mother’s passing be quick, may all of you have time to say your goodbyes, may your time of mourning be as peaceful as it can.
