By Canadians Noel Boivin and Christopher Lombardo. See here and here.
Noel lives here in Bangkok and is a good friend of mine, so I thought I would throw in a shameless plug for his book, since he tells me it recently went on sale in the US after having done well in Canada these past couple of years and receiving favorable reviews. He brought back some copies with him from Canada when it came out in October 2006, and I bought one. I can vouch that it’s an entertaining read. He tells me he’ll be doing an interview from Bangkok with a Seattle-area radio station on Thursday.
Holding with the theme of the book, I must report, too, that Noel and I took part in a big piss-up on Friday night, a farewell party for an Indian friend who’s moving to Abu Dhabi. We greeted the dawn Saturday morning at a sidewalk bar on Sukhumvit Road. It’s Sunday morning now, more than 24 hours later, and I’m having coffee and just beginning to feel human again. I’m definitely getting too old for these types of shenanigans. But I did not do anything worthy of making it into Noel’s book … or at least, I don’t think I did.
