The March to the 102nd Grey Cup

The CFL season has opened and the march to the 102nd Grey Cup has begun! Over a century of fighting for Earl Grey’s mug, and the tradition continues.

Lat year’s champions, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, had a good game last week, defeating their Grey Cup opponents, the Hamilton Ti-Cats, by a decisive 31-10.

The West Division was generally dominant last week, with no eastern team winning against a western team.

The Riders aren’t doing so well today in the East: current score is 28-15 for the Argos.

[sigh] make that 34-15. At least the Argos flubbed their two-point convert.

For the first time in forever. I wasn’t at the Riders’ home opener. We had a bit of rain in Saskatchewan last week, with a lot of flooded basements. Gainer the Gopher was on record as saying it was the wettest game he’d ever gophered at. Tickets sold: 31,000+. Actual bums in seats: 19,000+. About 12,000 fans with water issues.
