The mechanics of chewing & the frustrations therein...

Question 1 of 3: Why is it that in a room of people everyone sounds different while chewing? To be more specific, why do some people make sooo much noise while eating (even with their mouth closed)?

Question 2 of 3: Is there a term for the inability to ignore certain sounds (to the point that it is maddening)? i.e. Is there a specific term for someone unable to stand the noise of chewing?

Question 3 of 3: If there is an answer to question #2, is there a solution to the problem (other than eating alone)?

Please forgive the crazy nature of the question, but I have to know.
