The Mentalist- question about relationships

Abbott needs some reigning in. He smiles so much that it comes off looking like he is happy he is getting acting work. The woman agent was really obvious. No way Jane missed it. He was being hyper-vigilent and checking everywhere to see when they found him. As for the napkin, that would certainly pass for a civil contract in this lawyer’s opinion.

I would also like to know how Lisbon comes to be living in such swell digs. Looks like a nice 2 story house, well-furnished. I remember when she was living in an apartment that looked to come furnished. And what is her job? Is she a cop (with SAC PD?) or a security guard?

Well, the teacher adressed her as “chief”, so I figure she’s chief of police of a small town.

beyond all of Abbott’s threats - Jane has not been convicted - he would still have to be tried in court, and I’m guessing even with as sloppy as he was, the evidence would not work out if pushed.

Doesn’t mean that Jane would/should not take a proper ‘deal’ if presented - but its hilarious at this juncture to even use ‘prison’ as a threat - given that Jane walked from the other Murder he committed.

Whose to say Abbott isn’t part of the Blake group even though he’s working with the FBI?

I thought Cho wasn’t just deadpan; he was positively RUDE to Jane.

Yup, I’d harry that.

Pretty much the same thing they did with Magnum, over 20 years ago (he didn’t kill a guy with his bare hands, but he shot an unarmed, no immediate threat guy in the back, rather than let him walk away). And they made it very clear that Jane wanted to kill RJ more than anything, so it wasn’t much of a surprise.

I haven’t watched the show much over the last few years, maybe two or three times a season, and I just finished watching last couple episodes online after I read that RJ had been killed. But from what I did see, the identity of RJ makes no sense. He had all these women, some very hot, who would do absolutely anything for him, and he turns out to be a shrimpy, rat-faced old man? Geez, it’s hard enough to believe the adoring women in that other show, where James Purefoy is the Svengali.

By the way, I thought he said Jane didn’t know him (even after the reveal), and I sure haven’t seen him before, although like I said, I haven’t watched regularly. Was he a character in previous episodes?

That was my impression. A town so small that houses are cheap, the deputy is an idiot, and the chief only wears a captain’s bars. Usually, police chiefs of even modest-sized towns go with the full four-star treatment, like they’re MacArthur or something.

Sheriff Thomas McAllister. He first appeared in the episode Red Hair and Silver Tape, when a girl was murdered and he helped the team to investigate. See the link for more.

Indeed. If Jane doesn’t have a plan here, I’ll be very surprised.

I can get behind the idea that Jane took two years off to relax and get his head right, though. Now he needs to get back in the game and work his magic on Abbott.

I liked the Jane/Cho interaction - Cho is kind of a perfect G-Man - “Just the facts, ma’am.” I don’t think he was rude to Jane - he was very Cho, and Jane understands that Cho is Cho.

A new show with Jane, Lisbon and Cho would be fine by me. Grace and Rigsby are consultants, so I can see them visiting the show on occasion.

Thanks for the link. I may even have seen that one, but I don’t remember the sheriff.

ETA: heh, I notice he has four stars on his collar.
