The Middleman, the wonderfully loony show on ABC Family, finally met an adversary he couldn’t defeat: ABC Family.
From Zap2it’s TV Gal:
Too bad. ABC Family was obviously the wrong channel for this show, but I guess we owe them thanks that they made a season in the first place.
He was fun and she was a hottie so I hope they can find more work (on something more long-lived) sometime soon. RIP.
I was expecting it. There was absolutely no way it would succeed on ABC Family (actually, the only network where it would work would be if Sci-Fi merged with Comedy Central).
The Middleman appeared in last week’s episode of Dollhouse, so he’s getting work.
I will have to see about getting the comic. And the episodes are available on iTunes.
Oh wow. That’s some bad news right there. I really liked the show. Really fun light hearted (ok, apparently, Firefox doesn’t think “hearted” is a word) show.
Closest I’ve ever been to reading a comic book. The pop culture references were really great to look out for too. In fact, I watched Ride Lonesome because it was mentioned in the show.
Oh well
I guess this means I’ll never get to see the early episodes unless they put out a DVD set (please!). Although I haven’t yet checked to see if they’re available on Hulu.
I also finally realized why one of the recurring characters on Leverage looked familiar - he played Manservant Neville on Middleman. And I see he’s going to be in a few upcoming episodes of Dollhouse, too.
