The timeline actually represents the time since our emission into the Universal jet.
So some say the universe bangs and blows. You say the universe squeezes and sucks.
No matter which way you look at it, it’s a complete fuck show.

The further from the Universal jet emission point the stuff is the further in the past the stuff was emitted into the jet.
Good analogy. A fish in water is analogous to an astronaut in the aether.
