the only thing that’s really ever annoyed me about him is that he seems to think “insults are allowed in The Pit” means “insults are mandatory in The Pit.”

Yeah, I came in to name Dropzone, but I see he outed himself. Colour me amazed he wasn’t on the first list.
Way too much laboured cleverness, which never reaches it’s mark. He blames booze a lot, but I’m not entirely convinced. Where I used to be curious, "I wonder what the hell that’s supposed to mean?’ Now I just pass over it as just more of the same!
I agree with the first two, and the order is correct. Watchwolf is (to me) actually the more annoying because of his propensity to get facts wrong and/or to be grossly illogical, but you can’t beat Leo Bloom for sheer incomprehensibility.
There is no reason to have GIGObuster on that list. GIGO’s posts are not just comprehensible, they’re invariably well researched and well cited. That the writing style is that of someone whose first language is not English is an unremarkable fact that does not warrant ridicule, and if you think it does I’m afraid that reflects more on you than on GIGO.
Mostly my issue with GIGO is the habit of using commas instead of periods, you end up with long disjunct sentences that would be more understandable if separated, this is something that is so fundamentally simple and yet when it isn’t done it’s really annoying, that said, for someone whose first language isn’t English this is a relatively minor quibble.
I’ve told elucidator he is the opposite of his username.
Calvin Coolidge came home from church. His daughter asked him what the sermon was about. He replied, “Sin.” His daughter asked, “What did he say?” Cal replied “He was against it.”
Likewise with GIGOBuster. It’s always about global warming, and he’s against it.

Shodan
And yet there’s always someone popping up here to argue the opposite position. Frankly I’m amazed GIGO has the fortitude to keep debunking the deniers’ idiocy.
I can’t believe watchwolf isn’t #1. . . His prose and arguments are incomprehensible already. . . but his habit of ending every single thought with ellipses . . . takes the cake.
I’m going to nominate whoever it was who came up with "14 K of G in a F P D."
Gigobuster is helpful in that he has a library of links to activist opinion pieces, so if you don’t understand his argument, he usually throws one in that comes close. Of course if you make an argument that hasn’t been addressed by the left wing activist-o-sphere, you will still be hounded by the links to pieces that offer non-sequiter rebuttals to the standard right wing talking points.
Dictated but not read.
I like the fact that Leo’s difficult to parse posts are usually well worth trying to figure out.
Well thanks for that guys, that makes my day.
Of course, back to reality…
I hope you do not want me to become like Watchwolf49…
But believe me when I tell you that I do appreciate that criticism. It is a bad habit that I make an effort to control. But I have to acknowledge that it crops up still; although it is mostly because I’m in a hurry or coffee has not kicked in.
What? Do **you **want be like **Watchwolf49 **? He was/is the Igor to one of the biggest climate change deniers and as usual for deniers that banned poster was a crank magnet. I did take FXMastermind to task for his virulent stupid hatred of Nuclear power, Mercury in dental fillings, and other stupid beliefs.
I point that out because claiming that I’m always about global warming is just being ridiculous. So, thank god for you showing all what you are… :p. What is happening is that I’m always there when an opponent is not only wrong in my opinion, but when he/she is also wrong in the opinion of the experts out there. I bust not just ignorance about global warming.

There are some posters for whom English apparently isn’t their first language who Capitalize Words inside of their sentences in seemingly Nearly Random ways. Not exactly undecipherable, but it Looks like they Learned English from a Style Manual written in the Fifteenth Century, and it is Quite Distracting, at Least for Me. (Example.)
My speech to text Android regularly does this. I sometimes correct the errors but I have been known to skip them, too.
You can spot his posts just by the format. Has anyone figured out where he stands on the issue of Climate Change?
Thanks for the links, but I did a quick search of your posts. I’m sure we will all be astounded to see that the large majority were about the Paris accords, why Trump is bad (for pulling out of the Paris accords), did the Paris accords disadvantage the US, and so on.
Look, we get it. You have the hammer, and everything sure looks like a nail.

Shodan
I know little of this **Gigobuster **but has anyone read any Count Blucher? I think if we put his posts with dropzone’s posts, randomly, they might make a coherent conversation.
As others pointed out, there would not be much of a need to counter that bit of ignorance, but there are many that fall for misinformation nowadays. As I have more experience with history and social sciences the meta point here is that a lot of that ignorance I have to counter does come from the support that powerful interests are giving to climate change deniers out there. Support that goes all the way to the level of helping with untold millions to their election to congress too.
It is no wonder why an item that is comparable to the denial of evolution (that I have also defended many times in the SDMB) is being push up constantly. Such attacks on education are so prevalent these days that groups that before defended educators against the opponents of evolution had to add the defense of the teaching of climate change to their mission; because many of the deniers out there are the same as the deniers of evolution or they employ the same tactics as creationist and IDs use.
