The most offensive ads I've ever seen

These ads for a law firm appear in the subway here in NYC. They also apper in an animated gif at their website

Just watch the little slide show in the upper left corner.

Notice anything odd?

This firm appear to specialize in sueing the ass of people who done you wrong for things like car accidents, malpractice, etc.

But the ‘victims’ in the ads all have this happy happy grin on their face. Like the patient on the operation table. His HEART is flying out of his chest! The doctor is upset. The Nurse is horrified! The patient is unbeliveable happy! Yea! I can hire these lawyers to sue!

I can feel the walls of the veins of my head get a little thinner.

The one for lead paint with the crying baby and smiling parent is a bit sick.

I love how they’re all pointing at themselves too, as if saying, “Yeah, I’m getting some money out of this!”

Sheesh. Fucking ambulance chasers.

This has gone past offensive and into the realm of hilarious for me.
YAY! My BABY GOT LEAD POISONING, NOW IT’S PAYDAY!

Those ads have been around forever in the subway. I was always amused by the slapstick cartoons until I remembered that they’re advertising for personal injury lawyers. :smack:

I liked the machinery accident. “Hooray! My arm’s caught in machinery and mangled!”

Surely that’s a joke? Surely? I laughed my arse off looking at those things.

While I agree with mouthbreather that it’s gone past offensive into the realm of hilarious, then I saw the lead paint poisening one, and it flew back into offensive.

If I were a lawyer, I’d be ashamed of my profession.

Oh, wait. I am. And I am.

Yeah these are pretty cheesy.

I once saw a procedure film on abortion and the girl in the film had a smirk on the entire time. She would say “Oh I feel a cramp” and then have like this sardonic grin on her face. I never saw any other advertising that turned my stomach like that.

I’m reminded of the Simpson’s Episode when Homer gets a triple bypass - the animated neon sign for the “Happy Widow Insurance Company” where the grieving widow at the grave turns into a happy widow dancing on the grave with dollar signs.

There’s an ad for a certain Vegas casino, can’t remember which one, and the little snippets imply not-so-subtly that if you go there you will have scruple-bending consequence-free sex. Ex: A good-looking woman is being hit on by another good-looking woman, and she turns to the camera and says “Sure - I’ve got rules…I left them at home!” IIRC the slogan was actually “Vegas: what happens here stays here”<!>

Personally i think they’re kinda funny, but I certainly thought they were sure to raise someone’s hackles when I first saw it.

I had to save that. Comedy GOLD.

Yeah I see the flying heart ad on the train everyday.

Creepy.

Wowzers, I thought lawyers were on earth to fight for justice and truth!

Did you notice how their phone number is satanic?

I’ve seen the ads on the subway for a while but I finally remember to look up the site address to see if they were online as well.

The baby one is really bad. The guy flying through his windshield must be driving under the influence to be that happy at that particular moment.

I called the number. The receptionist was very gruff sounding.

Hmmm. I can’t see them in any of the browsers I have installed. I use a whopping hosts file to get around banner ads, but that works by blocking content from known ad servers, and as far as I can tell by a quick glance at the source, the .gif is located at www.shandellblitz.com/img/ads.gif , which should display just fine.

Can some kind soul provide a direct link to the .gif file if I am mistaken about its location? I feel so left out. Not even a Red X.

That’s actually just a regular Las Vegas tourism ad. There are others in the series, including:

  • a chick in a plunging-necklined dress who gets off on the smell of the leather-interior limo, but steps out of the limo as a British-accented primly-dressed woman when they arrive at the airport (not without one last lustful sniff of the chauffeur)
  • one woman who apparently drunkenly marries a much younger man that she just met, and the next morning is giggling and kissing him, yet trying to leave to go back to her regular life and saying, “I’ll call you!”

I guess their push towards being a “family entertainment destination” didn’t bring in the bucks, so it’s back to “Sin City.”

I love those Vegas commercials!

With all due respect, Zebra, if that’s “The most offensive ads I’ve ever seen”, you have led a very sheltered life.

Just so people don’t think all lawyers are that bad, I’ll add this lawfirm’s website which shows that some attorneys actually have a sense of humor and a soul.
