The Movie Game II

Me neither. Glad to hear you’re out there.

Oh sure, make me look it up. It’s a(n undoubtedly heartwarming) story of an emotionally stunted bachelor who ends up adopting a baby. :dubious: Good? really?

However, it does have Gabriel Byrne in it.

Oh good lord – it’s based on Silas Marner.

Yeah. But I SWEAR it’s good!! Honest! I mean, not like the cheesy stuff I say is good, but like Steve Martin’s other movies, good. Like, say, LA Story type good.

Okay, I’ll just go sit over here in the corner, cuz I’m embarrassing myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, The Usual Suspects seems apropriate here.

Chaz Palminteri

Like this film very much - it inspired me during my court battle aginst my former employers.

Peppermint Lounge

I’ve never heard of this – neither has IMDb. :dubious:

Apparently, it’s yet to be released.

Ruling, please?

I think we should stay away from not-yet-released, as requiring too much insider knowledge. Even if I haven’t seen every movie I’ve played (or played off), it’s at least theoretically possible that I have and that other players have. Yeah, I read “Entertainment Weekly,” but …

Not my call, though. Where’s the ref?

In previous games/rounds we hadn’t allowed yet-to-be released films. Someone want to replay Chaz?

Mulholland Falls (oh phooey, did I misspell that when I searched?)

You’re good. I almost played Naomi Watts (gosh, wouldn’t I love to do that!) but then realized you said “Falls” and not “Drive”. I’m only vaguely familiar with this one.

Michael Madsen.

It made me think of LA Confidential. I like the noir films, pity they don’t do that many any more.

He’s got a great voice. I’m surprised I don’t hear him do voice overs for stuff, although I think he did the narration in Tarantino’s recent flick.

Thelma and Louise

Susan Sarandon.

Lorenzo’s Oil

Sorry about the Peppermint Lounge play. The film’s apparently one of those eternally on-again, off-again projects, as Palminteri and Bruno Kirby were hired for it six years ago, and more than one site lists a 2000 date of release for the picture.

I’m not sure whether to call you for showing off or cheating!
