Blow. Okay, I’m looking for someone to name a specific actor for this movie - someone who’s been in a surprising number of films but as far as I know has never had a lead role. Another clue? “Frankie.”
Well, I assume “Frankie” doesn’t refer to Franka Potente, does it? And I really want to use Franka Potente.
(There are a lot of actors in this movie)
Nope, not Franka, but go ahead and use her.
I was referring to Ethan Suplee, the big guy made famous for his role as Frankie on the show Boy Meets World back in the day.
No way, dude. Ethan Suplee was made famous for his role as the Magic Eye painting-obsessed Willam in Mallrats. “When, Lord? When to I get to see the goddamn sailboat?!!!”
Anyway, he was also in American History X, which I don’t think we used yet in this round.
I had no idea that was that kid’s name.
Trying real hard not to go with an Edward here. How about Stacey Keach? (I have a film in mind with him, bonus points if that’s the one you pick. Hint: lizard)
Hm. Stacy Keach is one of those guys I only really remember from television. Lizard, lizard…drawing a blank. Sorry. But he was in Brewster McCloud.
Well, if anyone else can come up with it throw it out here. It’s worth ten bonus points.
This movie has one of my all time favorite lines: “Future of rock and roll: New Wave… then Bruce Springsteen came along and fucked it all up!”
I think Shelley Duvall was in Brewster McCloud.
Now since we’re wishing for specific films, how about a little indie movie she did just a few years ago?
We did her. Few turns ago. Popeye & Roxanne.
I still don’t know this one myself, but I called my brother in Salem and he said that Bud Cort was in it.
Bud Cort played “John Doe Jersey” in Dogma.
Which had a number of great characters, but my favorite might have been an extraordinarily hot Selma Hayek as Serendipity, the Muse.
*Dogma * has its share of flaws, but it’s still one of my favorite movies.
Salma Hayek was in Spy Kids 3D.
God, what a disappointment that movie was. That and the other one Antonio Banderas (gratuitous drooling) was in caused me to rethink my opinion of Roberto Rodriguez as a director. Both of the endings were just too cheesy for words.
…had quite a different character in Philadelphia
I think Denzel Washington is still good this time around.
I don’t believe that we’ve done Denzel Washington this time around.
Which was what I was going to post, but the thing didn’t go through, and now that I’m back in the office (I had to pop out), I see that Zeke has beaten me to it. So let’s honor Mr. Washington’s break out performance, no, not Training Day…

Is this the same movie with Howard Tollins Jr ?
Opps I meant Howard Rollins Jr
