That’s right, I got my CD price fixing class action suit settlement check in the mail. A whole $13.86. I can scarcely contain myself. It bought lunch today, and will again tomorrow.
Wow, I feel such a rush of justice.
Never again will I have to pay an inflated price for a CD.
…right?
Woohoo! Just got my check in the mail. That 13.86 is going straight towards my college education…
Yours came late. It’s been almost two weeks since I sent my well deserved funds back out to recirculate.
Did you go with the case of beer?
The case of beer would have been bought with or without the settlement check. It’s on the Necessity List, along with milk, bread, toilet paper, and Jax.
I went out and got the Basillico’s House Special pizza. Mushrooms, sausage, peppers, olives, onions, and pepperoni. (Good thing TP is on the necessary list, lemme tell you
)
I got mine a few days ago. I am going to go see an overpriced movie with it.
What I want to know is, why the hell did these class action lawyers go for this lousy settlement, instead of pressuring for the prices on CDs to drop? Who do I sue over that? Its totally void of any justice whatsoever. This tiny check won’t even buy me another new (overpriced) CD. Where’s the justice in lawyers collecting millions, a few thousand people collecting less than $14 apiece, and CDs, which the record company basically admits to overpricing stay the same price?
WTF???
Actually, if you look at the date I started this thread it’s the same day you started yours. But nobody replied until today.
They might have been busy interviewing business managers and attorneys to handle their sudden wealth.
You’re probably right. If you convert that $13.86, you get 18,452,319.19 Turkish Lira!
My college’s post office is pretty bad. I’m sure I’m one of the last people to get the check. Almost started a new thread before I found this one in a quick search…
I think I’m going to spend my 13.86 buying 14 iTunes…
Dang! I got my check a week or two ago, forgot about it, and now it’s, uh, “somewhere in my apartment.” I’ll have to get a shovel and clean off the coffee table to find it.
Anyway, thanks for reminding me.
