A check for $13.68 came Saturday. Too late to buy insurance against falling cell phones, and it’d be pretty silly to run out and buy a CD with it.
I can get a case of beer with it, unless someone has a better idea.

If I had $13.68 to blow, I’d probably get a 12 pack of Newcastle.
Wow! $13.68! You could, umm… buy another CD? That is, a Certificate of Deposit?
I’ve already decided that, just to snub the Music Industry, I’m going to use my CD check to buy a book.
You can buy my friendship for one hour.
Or you could get the case of beer and share.
Hey, that’s a pretty good deal. From what I hear, “friendship” is at least $50 an hour around here.
They aren’t really your friends if they are charging you that much.
True. They tend to prefer “companion” or “escort” to “friend”…
As is my understanding of that type of relationship.
Mine’s getting lumped in with some other class action settlements and rebates to apply to a wireless MP3-playing thingamahoozits that connects 50 gig of music on my PC to the stereo system.
OOOh.
I got mine today!
Cool.
I forgot all about it.
Sad part is, 13.86 really isn’t enough to buy a new cd. Funny. Tis why I pretty much only buy used cds.
Use it to buy some blank CDs.
A vinyl LP from a no longer existing record label.
I just cashed my check this morning.
I was wondering what to spend it on. My daughter suggested another CD, but I figure that if I do that, the record companies have won.
Perhaps I’ll spend it on iTunes downloads… 13.86/.99 = 14 downloads…

Hi.
I’m the guy who doesn’t know about these “CD settlement checks”. Who did the “CD people” settle with and over what?
[/slight hijack but not completely off topic]
You could buy a Pizza.
I also had forgotten about signing up- and in the mail yesterday was a pretty check for $13.86. Cool!
bienville: IIRC (and considering I didn’t remember signing up for the settlement-take it for what it’s worth), it’s a refund based on all the price gouging record companies have done.
bienville-
Here you go.
(bolding mine on both)
Mine’s $13.86 too. Casey, did you just type it wrong by accident, or did they rip you off by $0.18?
IIRC, most of that .99 goes to the record companies for royalties.
I second the blank CD idea.
I’m reminded of that “Monopoly” card:
–Buy A Rolls Royce
– Take A World Cruise
– Buy A Yacht
Sadly, you need $100 for those extravagances. (at least that’s what the Monopoly card said).
:smack: Dyslexia is a crippling disease, isn’t it? Yes, I meant $13.86. Now I can buy misstee’s friendship for a few seconds more. They may be key seconds, ones that change both of our lives drastically. For better or worse, who knows? It’s exciting to consider the possibilities of those few seconds.
