I found out about it by accident when I was looking at the BBC site trying to find something else.
Good characters, nice production design and a fun, and sometimes very funny, script. The second season has been given the green light, if there can keep the cast and quality it should be great.

One cast member won’t be returning - Peter Capaldi as Cardinal Richelieu (he’s somewhat busy on another show right now). But trying not to spoil myself, so I don’t know if they will recast or bring in a different character.
Doctor Who takes around 9 months to film. They began in early January this year, and won’t be finished until at least August, when it begins airing, then a month of publicity. That doesn’t leave any time for Musketeers, especially since they’ve already started shooting series 2.
