Glad you had a good time Swampy. I drew beer duty at a charity auction one time and had a blast. Of course I had to check the beer periodically to make sure it hadn’t gone bad. It was all good. (<— Hey, a double entendre).
Happy Bunny Day all. We’re fixin’ to head out to MIL’s place for Easter Dinner. That’s two nights in a row I didn’t have to cook! We went last night to our favorite cajun place and I had me some Steel’s Cane cured chicken. It was yummy.
We then came home and played our favorite card game w/friends and had some Captain Morgans and cokes. It was a fun time. I didn’t get to bed until the very wee hours, but then got up at 7:00 and prepared the Easter Baskets. There isn’t a single Peep to be found.
Well, need to round up the family, light a fire under their tails, and get them to MIL’s. We’re going to be late as it is. I hate being late.
Oh, Swampy, we got the rain that Lissa was trying to direct to you. In typical Washington state fashion, it’s raining for Easter. It poured all day yesterday too.
No chocolate bunnies in this house - how terribly unfair!! I made some chocolate pudding, but it’s just not the same. I want a bunny. Even a hollow one would do!

Speaking of chocolate bunnies, the reason I think that Easter Monday should be a national holiday is because of the after Easter candy sales! Imagine what a retail bonanza that could be!
I didn’t get no chocolate bunny either. ACBG and I have a pact about no buying of holiday candy goodies. Instead, we hit the stores the day after and buy it for cheap. The man knows me all too well. That and we’re both cheap ol’ misers.

No Peeps here, but we had REALLY yummy brownies for dessert.

Dinner at my friend Monti’s tonight. He cooks, his mother cooks, his father cooks… it was wonderful, if slightly not traditional.
We had escarole soup, ham & turkey, candied sweet potatoes, mashed cauliflower, stuffed artichokes, artichoke torte with quail eggs, and for dessert, angel food cake with strawberries and a flourless pumpkin thingie made out of garbanzo beans! Also espresso and some shiraz. I ate a little bit of everything and then I ate some more of everything and then I almost asploded.
I am saving my Peeps until Thursday, which is when I estimate they will reach their peak staleness.
THERE WERE MONKEYS!!!
And they had mean, mean eyes!
Mean eyes and mangy tails.
That’s all I’m sayin’.
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, a hearty welcome to all the newbies, although, surely after my lazy period (not to be mixed up with my blue period, or my awkward phase)surely I qualify for some level of newbiehood too? Do I get some of that pie with keys? (oh, I made that joke already).
